Home league match played on 17 April 2010.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

With two games left and languishing dangerously close to the drop zone we needed something from today’s game, ideally all three points.  And with the embarrassment of the 6-3 cup semi final still fresh in everyone’s mind revenge was also on the menu.  Hathaway came in for the absent Bert, Baggo started after impressing from the bench the previous week and Sgt Major Bishop came in to the back four with Adam dropping to the bench.

It was a good display in the heat and there was a bumper crowd at the home of football.  After a few half chances each end, B&A skipper Craig Gosnell opened the scoring with a scorcher right in to the top corner. The keeper had no chance but we gave the cameramen something to shoot at.  It was a much tighter affair than the semi final and we went in at the break 1-0 up.  So far so good.  Early in the second half Craig Bishop had to be substituted with a back injury.  Axel came on and pushed Bowlsey to centre back.  Shorty after this the referee awarded a free kick against the Southborough keeper for a pass back.  After the Southborough hillbillies had stopped calling everyone a c*nt and swearing at the ref Gozzy rolled the ball to Latts who smashed it home.  2-0

Unfortunately we couldn’t push on from there and increase the advantage.  Two slip ups in the middle of the park led to two break away goals for the visitors.  At 2-2 there was a great chance for Huffers to nudge B&A back in front but the slightest of flickon’s took the ball off the sweet spot and he fluffed it wide.

The game finished (about 10 minutes early) 2-2, on one hand a good hard fought point but on the other hand another lead thrown away.
