Forsyth slip further down the table

Victoria Hotel 3 Borussia Forsyth 1

         Purvis

Team News

After a weekend of hard partying with Boss, founder and inspiration Sir Bruce Forsyth after his recent knighting, Forsyth found themselves in a battle against Victoria Hotel who won the Premiership two seasons ago and Forsyth finding themselves slowly dropping down the table.

As normal the squad gathered together at Brucie headquarters before making the trip to Caedmon in the Cree mobile.

Forsyth were without Shaw ( away on international duty) and goalkeeper Reeves ruled out after a pre match nail clip and fitness test (poorly nails)

In the absence of 'the cat' Forsyth gave debut in goal to youngster Jamie 'radders' Radford after inpressing in youth matches.

Match

The match started with a proper referee which delighted player/ manager Brown after last weeks showing.

Both teams started with a fast tempo with end to end football being played but both teams rarely testing either goalkeeper.

The 1st goal of the game fell to the away team when the attacking midfielder found himself with space to the left of the goal 8 yards out, smashing at the stand in keeper but despite his best efforts found the ball nestling just inside the near post.

Forsyth then had the next chance when Brennan forced a save from the goalkeeper after neat interplay between himself and D Jeffrey.

Brennan 2 minutes later again had a chance when M Jeffrey slotted a ball to the side of Brennan whos shot 1st time was saved by the legs of the goalkeeper.

Forsyth for once couldnt seem to string more than two passes together which frustrated the away team and things nearly boiled over when Snedden was sandwhiched between two players on the floor, which angered the Borussia defender who nearly lost his cool.

This brought the big challenges out with D Jeffrey terrier like get amongst every loose ball, lifting the Forsyth team, Snedden then had the next and last chance of the half but missed the target.

The second half started disastrously when a ball was intercepted in the middle of the park and left in space to run to the keeper and calmly slot past the goalkeeper.

Crabtree then took a elbow to the eye as he looked to get Forsyth back into the game in a challenge. He is now destined to have a black eye as Snedden prior to the game tried to take out the tall man with a volley from point blank range smashed the side of crabtrees face.

Minutes later Forsyth nearly found themselves back in the game when a long ball by Crabtree found Brennan who flicked to Purvis who screemed a shot from distance which just missed the post.

Following this the game was put out of reach for Forsyth as a third was added by Victoria Hotel.

Borussia did get a goal back  late on when Brown found D Jeffrey who neatley found Purvis who lashed the ball into the top corner of the net.

Overall this was a bad day at the office for Forsyth, new signing Radford had a great game despite three going past him,but nothing can be taken away from Victoria Hotel who always looked dangerous. The game did end bitterly as during the post match handshakes the bald headed muppet lookalike goalkeeper didnt shake the hands of any Forsyth player in a complete show of unsportmanship, credit to the rest of the Victoria team who did.
