BBOB came into the game on the back of three consecutive wins but were with three players from last week, Adam, H and Joe Howard, they were replaced by Alistair Jones, playing for the first time this season, new signing George Pullen and Fletch who had replaced the injured Adam last week. BBOB stated strongly with Alistair and Jac dominating the midfield and Ben on the right-wing crossing and shooting at will but St. Peters counter attacked in the 7th minute with a long ball over our defence which was put out for a corner. From the corner Ali played Seb through the middle but the attack broke down. Three minutes later Ali had a shot which the keeper pushed wide of the post, Ben took the corner on our left, he played it into the middle, Joe managed to get a head to it and it looked like he was going to score but their defender cleared it off the line and upfield. Ali had another shot in the 13th minute, this time just putting it wide of the left post. St. Peters played another long ball over the BBOB defence when Ali was dispossessed just outside the St. Peters penalty area, but their strikers shot sailed over the bar. In the 25th minute St. Peters took a quick throw-in on their left, Fletch was caught out of position and their shot just went over the bar. A minute later BBOB won a throw-in on our left, Paul took the throw-in, the ball was played back to him and he hit it into the box where it came off a St. Peters defenders back and straight to Ben who slammed the ball into the back of the net of the net to make it 1-0. BBOB continued to pressurise the St. Peters defence with Sam and Ben linking well down our right, Ben continued to cross and shoot on goal whenever he had the opportunity, with their keeper making some good saves, but in the 39th minute St. Peters launched another attack with another long ball over the BBOB defence, their attacker beat Paul and hit a shot from just outside the penalty area which sailed past Mike in goal into the far corner of the net to make it 1-1. Just before half time the St. Peters keeper pulled off another fine save from Ali after he had been played through by Ben and that’s how it remained 1-1 at half time. BBOB had dominated the first half and it was only through the fine saves of the St. Peters keeper that they had not gone into the break with more goals. Just after the start of the second half Jac hit a shot just wide of the right post. St. Peters won a free kick on their left, with the wind behind them they shot at goal and Mike pushed the ball just wide of our post a short while later they did exactly the same. BBOB won a succession of free kicks down our right, Ben and Dan both hitting fine shots which just went wide of the goal. Seb had been playing well in attack pressurising the St. Peters defence but in a tactical move he was replaced in the 72nd minute by Luc. Shortly after this Ben had another fine shot saved by the St. Peters keeper, he was their saviour. Paul had one of his attacking moments in the 80th minute, when he ran down the left to the St. Peters goal line and crossed the ball into Luc but the chance came to nothing. In the 82nd minute BBOB had a corner on our right, Ben played it short to Joe, who played it back to him and he played it back to Joe, he beat their defender and hit a shot from just outside the penalty area and into the far corner of the net to make it 2-1, this was one shot their goalie couldn’t save, and BBOB took a well-deserved lead. Joe had another chance five minutes later when a long ball was played through to him, he ran at goal and hit a shot past their advancing keeper just wide of the post. The game ended 2-1 to BBOB and their fourth consecutive win.
