Away league match played on 01 November 2009.
Kicked off at 9:30 AM

We're singing in the rain!! Dreadful conditions were waiting for us at The Scorps. It rained and it was windy - cold...it was that wet rain as well!!

Donning are new home kit we kicked up hill with the wind first half. To be fair to our lads we started fairly well and used our power to pin Scorps into their half.

Maddo and Ding doing what they do best, especially Maddo who was all over. We created one or two half chances which came to little. Then with 10 mins played we put a cracking move together, off the training ground, pass, pass, cross - volley from Wardy who was unfortuante to see his effort come back off the bar. To be fair from this point I knew we would win comfortably.

15 mins gone Numpt went on a maze like run beat two or three then beat em again - Rhys pass it - he did a cute flick into Caddys path who despatched nicely 0-1. Not long after another training ground move saw Calum gallop away down the right, cut the ball back for Caddy to get his second. Most of the rest of the first half was about us attacking and not quite getting the goals our play deserved. Defensively we looked sound and its fair to say Sime was having his best game for a while when he got a knock ad had to come off.

Catty replaced Sime at right back and I must say performed well, in a game which the opposition had little to harm us with attacking wise. Mr Burns our player till he left us last week (his choice by the way, we didn't want him to go)must be thinking what he's let himself in for!!   The saying goes 'be careful what you wish for'!

HALF TIME 0 - 2

Made two changes at half time - Danno Comerford came onto the left side of midfield and Rodders the right side.

Although we had the slope second half the wind was against us. The game was still in the Scorps half and we managed to create a number of chances. Its hard when you are so on top for the boys to play with discipline and I thought a few lost the plot. Losing our shape has been a concern and its down to certain individuals going for glory. The back four were spot on in a game that must have been particularly boring for them - well done Catty Sime Ding Dong Jim and Troz.

In midfield - Dingle lost his MOJO 2nd half and he had to be subbed before he got hypothermia (try moving and getting the ball)

Up front - bit greedy boys, one touch or two at most would have got you both a hatful of goals.

Anyway the game - we managed to bag 5 goals in the secind half Maddo got two, Catty poked one in, Caddy got his hat trick and last but not least Wardy got his goal.

A very comfortable victory from a game that looked tricky on paper. Scorps have lost a few players and to be fair it showed, we were by far the better side and won 0-7 in 3rd gear really!

Very pleased with Dan who had his best game to date - he linked well and put some good crosses in. Maddo was good as always. Catty is fast becoming our utility player - right back, left back, midfield up front dunt seem to matter to him. He even finished as sweeper when Belly limped off with a knock. The back four were a lot better and have got to go on from this now.

All in all a proffesional performance in dire conditions.

One last thing we all enjoyed the hospitality from Scawthorpe, Dick does a good job down there. The facilities were excellent and the pitch was much improved.

Thanks to Scawthorpe.
