Away cup match played on 13 December 2009.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

Three weeks off, boggy pitch, arguably are biggest threat an away match at Wath.

There's three pontential banana skins for us on a cold winter morning. But to be fair we did our job well - not very well but well. Now, many reading this will say what on earth can there be to complain about, NINE goals away from home in a cup match against a team well capable of dumping us out! What i would say to that is....FIVE CONCEDED!!!!

Lets start with the positives and how we played in the early part of the game, full of confidence, passing moving. Calum majestic on the wing and threats from Wardy and Caddy. All happy! Not!!

Defensively we looked very shakey, indecisive, weak and no commmunication. I think its a bit unfair to whip the back four but we took a couple of steps back today after taking a massive leap forward in the last few weeks. We'll work on a few things Wednesday and I look forward to seeing a big improvement against Moorends,

The first half was hard to watch really, we played so well. A good header from MADDO from a CAL corner and a beautifully worked goal by WARDY. He picked the ball up on the half way line played a lovely weighted ball to CAL who skinned the full back. He delivered it into WARDYS path and he despatched it with aplomb!! The crowd clapped to a man!! CADDY opened the scoring and quickly added a a second. All this great play was marred by some slipshod defending, leading 1-4 with 10 first half minutes to go we managed to get in a right pickle, DAVE kicking straight to there midfield player from a goal kick, he played it through and the boy made no mistake. Then poor defending from a corner and that was another.

UNBELIEVABLE.............. HALF TIME 3-4

I felt we were a bit shell shocked at the break. A couple of our boys were looking like lambs to the slaughter.

We made one change, swapping the usually dependable SIME for CATTY. Yet again its hard to describe our second half performance. By the main it was good. Marred again by some dodgy - yes you guessed - DEFENDING or lack of it.

At this point I must mention three of our midfield players who were excellent. MADDO (as always) CAL (the best wide player in Donny) and DINGLE (who came to the party). With these three in top form we are frightening!!

RHYS (numpt) came on and got himself a goal along with RODDERS, CADDY two more and WARDY. The front sixes second half performance was spot on.

A good example of this was a move from DANNO to DING to DANNO and good run and cross for CADDY to score a great team goal that once again had the crowd showing there appreciation.

All in all a good result and we WIN as a team and LOSE as a team. So it really doesn't matter who scores, who plays well, who plays bad as long as collectively we do enough to win. Next week the back five may keep us in the game when the attacking players struggle.

There is another thing I think is important ALL OF YOU ON THE PITCH AND OFF need to encourage our players who are struggling, its no good moaning and bitching at them, go over give em a CUDDLE and a word of encouragement. TROZ was a good example, when things were a bit dodgy he was the only one who opened his gob and encouraged. ALL OF YOU NEED TO DO IT!!!!!!!!!

FULL TIME 5 - 9

GOOD WIN BOYS! GREAT ENTERTAINMENT!
