Away league match played on 30 January 2011.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Playing in our unfamiliar Blue kit we played some excellent stuff in spells today.

We had Simon away for the weekend and Danno ill this week which left us with a squad of 14 to choose from.

We made a few changes Caddy taking over from Calum on the right hand side and Dingle replacing Jimmy (the giraffe). The changes were brought about because both Jim and Cal have had injuries this week and we are trying to nurse them through the next few weeks and hopefully both will be fully fit and firing soon!

Kea and Wardy started well up front and the supply upto them from Maddo, Ferg and Caddy was at times top draw, one two's wing wizardry from Caddy and good crosses into the box served up chance after chance! I'm not going to go through every goal one by one. It will get boring. Goals that took the eye first half was Keas finish were he got it inside left  position opened his body and bent it into the keepers bottom left hand corner. Quality finish! The other first half news worthy element was Ding Dong getting his first goal for a while from the spot. There were other highlights, with some of the play mouthwatering. Maddo and Ferg prompting from midfield and Caddy from wide right very pleasing!

Disappointing was the defending, we conceded when we were in total domination not good. From a corner, no one picked up, a scramble and they netted.

HALF TIME 1-6

Made two changes at half time Jim replaced Ding and Cal came on for Rodders who had a bit of a quiet game today. The goals to highlight were the through ball fro Ferg to Wardy, he raced onto it and finished expertly. The other one was a good team move which saw Maddo cross for Caddy to head home. We did take our foot off the gas but thats only natural. We had good tempo to our game, closing Branton down when we lost the ball and getting it back quickly. We used it fairly well when in possesion. To be hyper critical we could keep the ball better. A few more passes maybe, come square and back, this will give everybody a breather and kill the game. Something to think about!!

Disappointingly we managed to concede two this half, we need to concentrate better. I know it difficult to keep the concentration levels up when you are playing at the back and we are battering the opposition. But thats what makes a good defender, concentration is key. We could have been playing stronger opposition who might have caused us more probs, lets not get complacent. We are the best because our attention to detail and professional approach lets keep  it that way...

FULL TIME Branton Juniors 3-12 Carcroft Village Boys

CONCLUSION - i mustpraise you all, we are starting to ht top form and are no were near the side we were at the start of the season. Fergs been a good addition and although its tok him a few weeks to settle, he was diferent gravy today! That sort of form will get you recognised!

We need to carry this on now and enjoy playing with each other (not literally) i mean football! We have a chance to play some expansive futty which i know you all enjoy, knock it about, express yourselfs. Its good for us as a management team and your parents to come and watch. I'd pay to watch some of the stuff we played today. I want to see more of it!

Just one cautionary note, we cant take things for granted, we need to keep working hard especially when we lose the ball. Get it back quickly and attack again.

We need to respect our team mates, without each other we cant achieve anything.Thats all seventeen of you by the way. For all our skill and flare players we need the roadsweepers to graft and give us that balance. Appreciation of your team mates contribution can be expressed in many ways, shake their hands wish em luck for the game. Praise the skill and quality and the hard graft its equally as important. Don't bad mouth ye team mates, encourage. Think about this and we may achieve something truly special.

Well done, proud of ye all today same again next week..
