Away league match played on 20 March 2011.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

Missing Maddo and Wardy but had Ferg back.

Played on a drying farmers field against an uncompromising Rosso team this could be tricky...

Calum started today and opened the game in lively style linking well with Ferg and Kezza. It took us only a few minutes to create our first few chances. Ferg pulled the strings from the middle and was relishing playing in his first game for about a month after cracking his wrist.

On 10 mins we opened our account, a good move created a shooting opportunity for Ferg who smashed the ball goal ward (slight deflection) and it ended up in the bottom corner. (10 mins 0-1 FERG)

It came at a good time and enabled us to relax and play some nice stuff at times, it took another ten minutes for us to extend our lead. After spurning a good chance earlier Cads got onto a pass from Kezza and smahed home with his LEFT foot. (22 MINS 0-2 CADDY)  We dominated up to half time and could have quite easily have added to our tally. I always felt we had the Rosso defence at full stretch and it always looked like we were gunna add another goal rather than concede one.

HALF TIME 0-2

Made a couple of changes at half time, forced changes, Troz came off for Jake and Calum made way for Rhys. Both lads were playing with niggles today.        The second half was pretty much same as the first, FERG and Dingle were running the midfield which gave us a great platform for our front two and wide midfield players to pretty much attack at will.

After a good move Kezza got off the mark with a good finish to make it 0-3. (42 mins 0-3 KEZZA).  Our fourth came from the penalty spot when J Baker was sent off for a reckless challenge on Cadz. Rodders stepped up and cooly planted the ball to the side of the keeper who didn't move (55 mins 0-4 RODDERS)

Playing against 10 men just opened the game wide and to be honest we could have scored 6 or 7 in the last twenty minutes. Bad finishing and poor ution of the final ball meant we only managed two more. Caddy got his 2nd and our fourth when he blasted a pass from Kezza passed the forlorn keeper. Kezza was particularly unselfish because he was in position to score himself. (60 mins 0-5 CADDY)

CADDY got his hat trick a few minutes before the end when after a almighty scramble when we must have had 5 shots blocked he blasted a low shot from the edge of the box through the crowd for our 6th. (64 mins 0-6 CADDY).

FULL TIME - Rossington 0 CARCROFT JFC 6

Conclusion

With only a few games left, we know by experience that in reality there are NO easy games. It doesn't matter if the opponents are in the top half or bottom half of the league. When Carcroft are in town, a giant killing by beating us is like winning the cup for them!  We must always remember that!

Today we matched Rossingtons commitment and our better players got on the ball and so from after 10 minutes the result was inevitable.

Couple of guys to mention today. Firstly a big WOW to FERG who was in a different parish today. He pulled the strings, pinging balls all over the field and he looked like a guy who was enjoying himself. EXCELLENT. Second, for Ferg to be able to get into the positions he did someone has to fill the middle, DINGLE was back today winnign tackles, playing easy balls and a couple of 'pingers' himself.

As far as the whole team goes, last week in the semi, i saw signs of some good form coming back to alot of our players. The football was scintillating. This week you all showed some very nice slick pass and move. At the pace we can play it its very hard to stop. Add a bit of good finishing and its very good standard football. Too good for the majority of teams in this league!!

Next week we have to go up a notch and finish the challenge of Donny Pumas. We are definately without Ding and Jake and maybe Ferg (don't know yet). On a plus side Maddos back. It could be the week we just about get a hand on the league title!! Come on boys. A big effort and take a step towards the fourth league title..
