Away league match played on 07 December 2014.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

The day started in Kaptain Kooks car park on a cold morning with no changing rooms. All players available for selection apart from our regular skipper Adam Meaking who was force out of todays game for personal reasons. The car park also saw the regular supporting cast of Jade, Deanna and of course Long term Injury Dave Farr who has been a fantastic voice on the side line while injured.

The game started strong, we were able to steal the ball very early and pass very well. The midfield Trio of Lloydy, Tim Smith and Pete were amazing. The bermuda triangle of players, When the ball went in there, Travellers rest went missing. It was that good. Batch, Holt and Harrison feeding of the quality coming from midfield. And the wall at the back, the growing partnership of Ward and Paterson a sight to behold. Calm and collected with epic strength the best way to describe them.

Within 10 minutes Tim Smith slotted a sweet eye of the needle ball through to Batch who turned the defender lioke he was not there to put it just out of the keepers reach. A fingertip was not enough to stop the shot.

A few minutes later, another ball was played through by Tim Smith to Holt who chased down the ball, keeper running at him he did not give up and got a touch and kicked it against the keeper which left him on the floor and the goal mouth open. Batch was only too obliged to slip it in for his second of the game very early.

Tim Smith again a few minutes later threaded the ball to Batch who ran on through their defence tearing them up. Centreback fouled batch and Holt called Tim Smith to take the free kick. And what a free kick it was. The usual shouts of keep it on target Tim, And make it count were echoed. Smith did not care for these shouts as he from 24 yards, put the ball over the wall and into the top corner...and i mean no further into the top corner than it could have possibly been. Malkin was heard describing it as Majestic. Well said Nick.

3-0 up at half time, but that was also due to the defensive back line, calmness and great passing through to the midfield to set everyone on their way, the way both Pato and Ward took the control of the ball when danger was around. Also the full backs in Brine and Harnett, running up and down the pitch, increasing the chemistry between the advanced forwards and themselves, great link up play. Both Brine and Harnett often found themselves higher up the pitch than the forwards but due to the midfield reading the game they were able to do so.

(just mentioning here that Lloyd did try a Rabona cross and tripped over like the guy on 'some tekkers are bad')

Entering the second half their team appeared to fall apart, space was opening up everywhere, Holt capatilised on this as Malkin whipped an adventurous ball across the pitch and over their defenders, the keeper did not fancy running out and Holt calmly smashed the ball to the keepers inside post to go up 4-0.

A few moments later Batch set up Malkin on the edge of the box and he smashed it home to make it 5-0.

On came Stanway, Greatrex, Rafferty and Johnson for Harrison, Holt, Ward and Llooyd. Pete having already come off for Malkin at half time.

The lads who came on played well and had some attacks of their own, although at this point knowing that we should have been up by 10 goals, greed set in, and passes were not made that should have been. Good runnig and determination from all the players that came on and no one let themselves down.

However a Harnett injury at left back on a corner for Travellers called Holt to come back on and step in, the corner was whipped in, Brine won the first header, then Nick was blatently pushed in the back but their player was quickest to react and poached an undeserved goal. Mark and the back four certainly did not deserve a goal going in today, as they played superb.

A great Win today, to take us into the last game of this year at home to White Hart.
