Home league match played on 21 September 2014.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

Coach and Horses Turned up expecting an easy game in parts due to the position of the opposition in the league. However after last week management made it clear that anyone can beat anyone in this league and it not to be taken for granted.

Coach and horses were missing Key players today in Dave Farr, Pete Walker, Jordan Evans, David Brine, Daz Ford and Box to Box. This gave some of the fringe players a chance to stand up and be counted. Along with new signing Sam Ward who we are delighted to welcome to the team.

We started well, after allowing them a through ball on the first attack that was dealt with, within 10 minutes we were awarded a corner. Keiran Greatrex swung in a peach of a ball allowing Holt to head the ball over the keeper into the back of the net. 1-0 the Coach. Another 10 minutes passed and having been called offside for 4 consecutive attacks, Adam Meakin threaded a perfectly weighted ball through to Dave Evans who calmly finished past the keeper. 2-0 the Coach.

MOTM Keiran then latched onto a supurb goal kick from Mark who then took it round the player and keeper and with his weak left foot slotted home to make the game 3-0. However Keiran was not done yet, after new signing Sam Ward battled in midfield and passed the ball to young Keiran, eye for goal, smashed a scremer over the helpless Travellers Keeper to make it 4-0. However!!! Keiran was hungry, Having taken on two players he could have slid Mike through for an open goal but his goal thurst needed quenching and he took a shot, it hit the bar, Mike then used some 5* skill moved to wiggle off the defenders and unselfishly took a shot which was parried onto the head of Dave Evans who made it 5-0 for half time.

Worth noting at this point that Pato and Hog at the back stayed strong throughout and saved Mark from doing any real work. Solidity at the back.

The second half was under way and the away team began to taunt the Coach players believing that would help them, it certainly gave them confidence and after a hoofed ball from their CB into our midfield that missed a header, their player latched onto it and placed it top bin. 5 minutes later another midfielder latched onto a loose ball and smashed another one over Mark Greatrex.

The game was getting heated and one of their players brutally pushed into Holt who saw the red mist and lunged at their player recieving a deserved yellow card. The resulting free kick was played to an unmarked player who somehow found the bottom corner of the net with a flukey touch.

With the score at 5-3 and things getting a bit manic, a through ball by Keiran was played to Dave Evans who shuck of the defender easily to slot home for 6-3. This was not enough however to stop them believing they were coming back into the game. Their winger ran into the box and a wasteful foul by Jason Harnett allowed them to have a penalty.

This moment changed the second half, an Immediate call to bring Dale Ford on to replace Jason which would happen after the penalty. Thier regular penalty taker stepped up, gave Mark the eyes and placed the ball with pace to the keepers right, However, Mark had read this well and pulled off an amazing save to keep the 3 goal lead in our favour. This then gave new life to Coach and horses, and while their players began to get booked for stupid comments to the ref, we settled back down. Couragous captain Adam Meakin admited it was time for him to come off which saw the substitution of Tim Hall come on up top and Holt drop to midfield. The game was beginning to settle down until their winger found some space and had a shot that Hog chaised down and got a foot to, which threw of Keeper Mark, however he pulled off an amazing save to keep Coach where they needed to be.

New signing Sam Ward had done his shift and saw the arrival of Calum Fernihough whose first contribution was a dynamite run in an attempt to latch onto Dave Evans cross across the face of goal, however this was not going to lead to 7 but will lead to Calum asking Santa for some more pace at Christmas.

A valiant win for the coach, more Pints for Dave and a good game to lead us into the cup next week.
