I had a few reservations about today’s game, All claims new all about us and I thought they played well when we played them in the league, so I was concerned that we needed to be on our game to get the advantage early and then force them to come at us. To be honest I was so pleased that Kempy screamer hit the back of the net. It smoothed the way to us dominating the game in the first half, even though All Claims got a goal we were the better side through out the half.

Of course Kempy goal was a great one and Frosty also kept up a good scoring record of a goal per game for us, but I think it was Mike who put the icing on the cake with a great shot across his body which flew into the top left hand corner. He had been rinsing his full back all game and making the major difference all game, so when his goal flew in I felt it was just rewards for an excellent all round game.

Looking through the team I saw commitment, passion and desire to beat All Claims it was something that I think we have lacked over the last couple of weeks, so it was good to see it return. Shane also had a great game down the left hand side and with the midfield not giving an inch we seemed to win this game in 3rd gear. We will have bigger challenges and we also will have better games but to get this response and quality early on in the season will pay us dividends in the coming weeks.

We are still missing a few players from our squad and I no that rotation will play a part of our season, but take it from the management it was a pleasure to manage a team that played for each other the way you all did today. Man of the Match was a difficult choice because of the efforts everyone put in but Mike stole it over Kemp and Frosty.

We have a huge game coming up next turn out and we need to be as focused as we were all this week. It’s a challenging one and I hope to get all the points from Borough Rovers at home, this will then allow the league to see were up for the challenge.
