SPEEDY RECOVERY BRENDAN, WE'RE GONNA MISS YOU MATE!!

Player scores by Mr. B

Crawley Panthers under 14’s Blue sponsored by S&N Tyres of Three Bridges and Southern Railway maintained their 100% start of the seasons in all competitions by making it through to the last sixteen of the Sussex County Cup despite having only played twice in the last five weeks due to the weather.

Panthers travelled to the south coast to take on Bognor Regis Town and took the lead within minutes through a stunning long range thunderbolt from Jordan L’etendrine. The joy was short lived when moment’s later captain Brendan Milborrow was carried off with a foot injury. X rays later showed two breaks which will keep him side lined for the next few months.

This spurred Panthers on and with eleven minutes on the clock Seika Jatta latched onto a loose ball, beat two Bognor players and duly found the corner of goal.  On sixteen minutes a perfectly flighted Jobe Wolfe corner found MOM Hayden Bulloch whose header made it 3 – 0.

Bognor’s third venture into the Blues half seconds before the break saw a consolation goal after a defensive mistake. This strike boosted the home team and saw them emerge the stronger in the second half, quickly adding a second goal to their tally before L’etendrine’s superb solo effort restored Panthers two goal lead.

The home side added a third direct from a corner, only for Jatta to claim his second of the game before Jermaine Beer netted five minutes before the final whistle, giving Panthers a comfortable 6 – 3 victory.

This was Panther’s most challenging game of the season, against a very a team who never let their heads drop and who played some good attacking football.

Panthers now have eleven wins out of eleven in all competitions, 101 goals scored, eleven conceded.
