Enzo hosted Jesus Coming Soon at Kalieka Primary School Ground on 9 May 2026, with kick-off at 11:25am in a lively 11-a-side friendly. The match ended in a 2-2 draw after 70 minutes of normal time plus added injury time and an additional five minutes of extra time, witnessed by a crowd of 300. Referee Mande Frank oversaw the contest with a solid performance.
Enzo lined up in a 3-5-1-1 formation, deploying three defenders at the back: Mathews Renald on the right, Kelvin Champion centrally, and Hollace Major on the left. The midfield was packed with five players, including Levison Kanyoza on the right wing, Kenneth Mwenye, Philip Thauzeni, and Precious Chilondola centrally, and Trust Champitila on the left. William Alexander operated just behind the lone striker, Lyton Manyozo, as the attacking midfielder. This setup was designed to provide width and midfield dominance, with the wing-backs expected to support both defence and attack, while Alexander’s role was to link play and create chances for Manyozo upfront. On the bench, Vincent Aaron was available as the sole substitute.
The match began with Enzo showing intent but also some early nerves. At five minutes, Philip Thauzeni’s misplaced pass threatened to hand possession to Jesus Coming Soon, though it did not lead to a goal. Two minutes later, goalkeeper Prince Tumeo was called into action with a sharp point-blank reaction save, keeping Enzo in the game early on.
Enzo’s attacking efforts intensified as Lyton Manyozo fired wide at 13 minutes, followed by Kenneth Mwenye’s shot being saved at 17 minutes. Kelvin Champion came close to opening the scoring at 20 minutes when his effort struck the crossbar, a cruel near miss for the home side. William Alexander then tested the opposition goalkeeper twice, with saves denying him at 23 and 28 minutes, illustrating Enzo’s growing pressure.
The first half concluded at 35 minutes with the score still goalless. Shortly after the break, Enzo made a tactical substitution, bringing on Vincent Aaron for Precious Chilondola to inject fresh energy into midfield.
The breakthrough came at 55 minutes when William Alexander unleashed a stunning long-range strike from outside the box, expertly assisted by Vincent Aaron’s short pass. This goal rewarded Enzo’s persistence and gave them the lead. The home side doubled their advantage at 63 minutes through Lyton Manyozo, who finished clinically inside the box after a precise header assist from Mathews Renald.
Despite the two-goal cushion, Jesus Coming Soon fought back fiercely. At 67 minutes, they pulled one back with a close-range header, reducing the deficit and shifting momentum. Barely a minute later, they capitalised on a defensive mistake to score again from close range with a right-foot finish, levelling the match at 2-2.
Enzo continued to press, with Kelvin Champion hitting the post at 72 minutes, narrowly missing a chance to regain the lead. The match extended into extra time, but neither side could find a winner, resulting in a hard-fought draw.
Hollace Major stood out for Enzo with a commanding performance at left defender, earning the player of the match accolade for his defensive solidity and contribution to both phases of play.
In summary, Enzo’s 3-5-1-1 formation allowed them to dominate midfield and create numerous chances, but defensive lapses late on cost them dearly against a resilient Jesus Coming Soon side. The friendly ended in a 2-2 stalemate, providing valuable match practice and plenty of positives to build on.
