Enzo hosted Villa FC at Kaliyeka Primary School Ground on 1 May 2026, with kick-off at 12:15am in a high-scoring tournament home match. After 70 minutes of normal time plus five minutes of extra time, Enzo emerged victorious with a 5-2 win over Villa FC in an 11-a-side contest refereed by Christopher Phiri.
Enzo lined up in a 3-2-4-1 formation, deploying three defenders at the back: Mathews Renald on the right, Kelvin Champion centrally, and Trust Champitila on the left. The midfield featured two central players, Philip Thauzeni and Kenneth Mwenye, tasked with both defensive cover and creative distribution. Ahead of them, a quartet of attacking midfielders operated with width and flair: Collins Kapulura on the right, Shadreck Kawala and William Alexander centrally, and Bashir Yasin on the left. Leading the line was striker Vincent Aaron, expected to be the focal point of attacks. The substitutes available were Lyton Manyozo and Brian Gabriel.
The match began with an early error from William Alexander, who misplaced a pass in the second minute but it did not lead to any immediate danger. Just two minutes later, Kelvin Champion was booked for serious foul play, a caution that would influence his defensive approach for the remainder of the game. Enzo’s goalkeeper Prince Tumeo was called into action early on, tipping a Villa FC effort over the bar in the sixth minute to keep the scores level.
William Alexander showed intent with a shot saved in the 12th minute, signalling Enzo’s attacking threat. The breakthrough came swiftly in the 13th minute when Alexander delivered a precise corner that found Vincent Aaron, who rose highest to head home and give Enzo the lead. Four minutes later, Kenneth Mwenye’s long pass carved open Villa FC’s defence, setting up Shadreck Kawala for a stunning solo goal from outside the box, finished with his right foot.
Vincent Aaron continued to trouble the opposition, forcing another save in the 26th minute. However, defensive lapses began to creep in as Trust Champitila was penalised for a trip in the 33rd minute. A minute later, Champitila’s poor concentration led to a Villa FC goalmouth scramble, allowing the visitors to pull one back with a right-footed finish from outside the box. The half ended with Prince Tumeo making a crucial parry in the 36th minute to deny Villa FC an equaliser.
Enzo made a tactical substitution in the 42nd minute, bringing on Lyton Manyozo for Collins Kapulura to inject fresh legs into the midfield. Early in the second half, Manyozo conceded a penalty through a handball foul in the 49th minute, which Villa FC converted to level the match at 2-2. William Alexander had a chance to restore the lead in the 53rd minute but his effort went wide.
Villa FC received a yellow card for deliberate handball in the 59th minute, a moment that shifted momentum back to Enzo. William Alexander stepped up to convert a penalty in the 60th minute, putting Enzo ahead once more. Vincent Aaron’s slide rule pass in the 65th minute created a clear chance for substitute Lyton Manyozo, who made no mistake with a simple tap-in to extend the lead.
Despite a misjudgement from Mathews Renald in the 66th minute, Enzo’s defence held firm. Another tactical change saw Brian Gabriel replace Bashir Yasin in the 68th minute, aiming to maintain the attacking impetus. Kenneth Mwenye continued to pull the strings with a long pass in the 70th minute that found Manyozo again, who finished inside the box with his right foot to complete his brace and seal a commanding 5-2 victory.
Vincent Aaron and Philip Thauzeni were named players of the match for their influential performances, with Aaron’s goals and assists proving decisive. Enzo’s 3-2-4-1 formation allowed for a potent attacking display while maintaining defensive solidity, ultimately overwhelming Villa FC on their home turf.
