Home friendly match played on 21 April 2012.
Kicked off at 12:30 PM

Despite the games being off at Killy, managed to get a friendly on the go against fellow Guide Post side the Hurricanes.

Missing for the Jets were Kyle, Dylan, Josh & Ethan G, so Ethan Slater kindly agreed to play to give us 7.  Started with Ethan S in goal, Kieran & Ipswich at the back, Ben on left, Joe B in the middle, Luke on the right and Ethan B up front.

Boys showed there passing intention from the kick off, played back to the defenders who bot got a touch before going forward to Joe who fed Luke and his shot went over the bar. Joe B was enjoying his midfield role, showing lots of energy, continuted to create long range opportunities, with ball going wide or Tewy in Hurricanes goal making the saves.  On the break Liam for the Hurricanes was causing lots of problems with his pace, Kieran & Ipswich having to work hard to keep him out. One time Liam did ge through his fine shot was excellently saved by Etahn.

Soon after the Jets were ahead, another powerful effort from Luke T was parried by Tewy, and Ethan B was in the right place to put the loos ball home. Jets doubled the lead before the break when a good cross came to Ethan B, who had time to contol ball fall over, spin round and put the ball in the net, although think Joe B may have got a touch on the line???? Where's the video replay to help. As the half had wore on Ben had moved to the back to counter Liams pace and was also joined by Luke. They worked well together to limit the Hurricanes chances. 2-0 at the break.

Second half and the Jets continued to pass the ball nicely, while the Hurricanes were not helped when Tewy had to withdraw with a knee injury so Mason then going in as keeper. Ethan B got his hat-trick when after another good move he had space in the area to put the ball past the keeper.  At this point Luke moved up front with Ethan B going on the right. At the back Ben was superb cutting out every ball and playing the ball out nicely, ably supported by Ipswich.  Fourth goal, and Joe B put in a lovely ball down the middle for Luke to make no mistake. Last goal was another good team effort nice passing found Kieran in space who drowe on really well down the left, though he had taken too far just as he pinged in a lovely ball for Luke to finish first time.

At the other end boys had to work very hard to keep the Hurricanes out, with Alex causing the Jets defenders problems, a good shot did though look to be goal bound but Ethan S got a fine fingetip save to push it on to post and to safety.

Final score 5-0 to Jets, an encouraging display lots of calm passing football, home coaches couldn't make a decision on Man of Match so gave it to the whole team. Ethan S, quiet game but two superb saves, Kieran, battled well great cross for goal, Ipswcih strong in tackle first half good passing, Ben read the game superbly rock solid in defence excellent distribution, Joe B played whole game centre midfield despite a lot of hard tackles never took a backward step and very good passing, got up and down all day, Luke played all over the park, great on the right, sold in defence and took goals well, while Ethan B finished expertly as ever. Gary the Hurricanes manager narrowed it down to Ben & Lukr with the deciding vote being made by the tem who just gave the nod to Ben. Well done all the boys.

In the fun penalty shoot out, Ben, Ethan B, Ipswich & Kieran scored, with the Hurricanes scoring two, Ethan S made around fve really good saves.

Hurricanes certainly battled hard, and were certeainly not helped with skipper Ollie missing, and then Tewy having to come off at half time. Liam was a threat going forward, with Michael and Taylor working hard in midfield, Tank very strong in tackle, Mason & James good at the back in first half, while Alex did well in the second half
