Away tournament match played on 21 May 2011.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

To make sure that the teams, were pretty level, swapped a number of players around today, the emphasis was on the boys having a good time, and mixing as one big squad.

Tornadoes Day

Tornadoes 3 Northburn 0 - Sam 2 Elliott 1 - MOM Sam - Nice passing football and some well taken goals.

Tornadoes 1 Storm 1 - Elliot 1 - MOM Elliott & James - Came within seconds of beating Storms side packed full of excellent guests.  To be fair though that would have been harsh on the Storm who did have the majority of the play. Good goal and battling performance

Tornadoes 0 Cramlington United 1 - MOM Elliott - Played some good stuff at times in this one, but some slack defending for the goal cost us the three points.

Tornadoes 0 Swallwell Kites 0 - Sorry was busy with the other team for this game, a good tight tussle with Sam going close on a couple of occasions John informed me.

Tornadoes 0 Storm 2 - MOM Elliott - Another committed performance from the boys, but Storm generally dominated through out although Sam and Elliott did go close, a cracking strike and a well worked team goal won the day for the Storm all stars.

Player of the Tournament - Elliott - Excellent performances from the skipper, with Sam not to far behind, well done to Ryan and Josh T coming into the side.  Apologies to Josh T I wasnt aware you missed the whole Swawell Kites game, which was an oversight on Johns behalf so you should have started v Storm, trying to run two sides meant for a busy day!

HURRICANES DAY

We had to borrow a number of players just to get a side together, many thanks to the two Connors who helped out along with Alex.  To say the team hadn't ever played or trained together, they had a good competitive tournament and luck was certainly not on our side as we had three close defeats that so easily could have gone the other way.

Hurricanes 2 Wansbeck 0 - Connor P 1 Connor R 1 - MOM Connor P Started on fire with the two Connors getting goals as we generally had the better of the game, some nice passing and movement. At the other end Michael was good in defence and Joseph made an excellent save

Westgate 1 - Hurricanes 0 - MOM Dylan This was one of three close defeats, we went close on a number of occasions with Dylan and Dane playing some good stuff. Westgate got a well worked goal just to snatch it, again Joseph made a strong save.

Ellington 2  - Hurricanes 0 -NON Connor R Missed the start but evidently we hit the post, and the keeper made a fine save to keep us out as we were the better side. A key substitution for our friends from Ellington changed the games as they dominated the last five minutes, Joseph made some good saves, but was powerless to do anything about two lovely Ellington goals.

Lightning 1 Hurricanes 0 - MOM Michael - With the wind advantage and some rather dubious refereeing Lightning sneaked home, but again this was hard on the Hurricanes with Dylan and Connor going very close, game could have gone either way, again Joseph made a couple of great saves.

Cramlington United 1 - Hurricanes 0 - MOM Joseph - To be fair to United they deserved the victory as they had the better of the game, and Joseph had to make a lot of key saves, while Nathan and Michael battled hard in defence.  Again Dylan and Connor went close, but the final result was a fair one.

Player of the Tournament - Joseph - Superb day in goal to show how good a keeper he is, good saves in every game, good distribution and a very good attitude. Connor P also had a strong tournament with Connor R and Dylan not too far behind, well done to all the boys.

Both teams were competitive which was the aim of the day, rather than having one strong team doing well and another struggling, all about coming together as a squad!
