Away friendly match played on 25 August 2010.
Kicked off at 6:15 AM

Thanks to Ellington for inviting us, was a good run out for the boys, and for the second time in a row we came off the park thinking that we really should have been the winning the side, with the Ellington keeper making around 15 saves, some of which were exceptional.  While at the other end we let their stand out player run the show, and not get our foot in.  All about being competitive and not sitting back and admiring the opposition.

A really poor last quarter where we allowed one player to dictate the game.

Going forward yet again, some lovely stuff being played, and the keeper kept them in the game in the thrid quarter. Seeing how good he was at high shots, could have done with shooting on the ground which their players did to good effect. Difference was the finishing and goal keeping on the night. Out on the field as on Saturday we were generally stronger, but need to turn that passing and midfield dominance into more goals.

Our attacking play is generally excellent, and really encouraging for season ahead, we must be due to a weaker keepr after the two outstanding ones we've been up against over the last week. Lots of positives to work on.

Dylan was I think corrrectly awarded the MOM award by the Ellington coach, because he was also my choice, good up front, and also strong in midfield when asked to play there, super game Dylan. Elliott had another good game, while Dane was back to really good form, lots of energy which caught the eye.  Sam made lots of good runs, needs to help out at the back. Josh started strongly, but seemed to fade a little but not too surprising after time out, Joseph played in a variety of positions and was good in all. Harry & James read game well, but once again tended along with Joseph when in the that position to stay too far back. Aaron one or two good saves. Keiran brand new to the side having a trial and not played competitively before, showed some good touches, nice passing. A few weeks of training and getting to know us, should come on well.

A chance to recharge the batteries, weekend off, next training Wednesday 5.45pm GPMS. Then cup game v Forest Hall at venue to be confirmed.

Now we are moving in to the competitive side of things, the three coach@s will sit down and generally pick what they see as the strongest 7 to start, subs will get generally two quarters and it is up to them to impress and try and get in the starting 7 for the week after!
