Hampshire cup 2nd round and again another home time vs Brading town colts youth from the isle of wight.

We didnt know alot about the visitours so the message to the lads before the game was to play are high tempo passing game to take are chances and try killing the game of by half time.

We started with a 4-4-2 with ryan s and josh on the bench opting for the extra bit of pace up front due to not knowing anything about the oposition starting very strong knocking the ball around with ease testing for any weakness within there team.

It only took us 5mins to go ahead with kieron going on a run through there defence taking on there defence trying to set himself up for his favoured left foot but had to opt for toe pocking the ball passed the keeper with his right foot due to the challenging defender.

We continued to pressure brading forcing them into making mistakes and on 13mins after a great bit of interchange between ollie and cameron up the left flank kieron was put through on goal one on one with the keeper by cameron to calmly slot home his and our second of the game.

Kieron was replaced on 18mins by josh due to a stitch with josh dropping into his holding role in the center of midfield and cameron filling for kieron uon the left leaving toby upfront as a lone striker playing a 4-5-1.

We continued to create chances with toby cameron josh and smithy all going close but on 22mins it was finaly made 3-0 by max who slotted home a great through ball from smithy.

Brading did slowly start finding little holes to break through to create chances going close twice towrads then end of the first half forcing billy into a great save down at his near post and then making him sprint from his line to clear a ball over the top of our defence but with just a few mins to go before half time ryan n broke clear from defence over lapping max down the right wing driving forward playing a one two with max cutting into the box and winning his team a penalty and with are usual penalty taker in kieron off the pitch the responsability fell to our captain lewis who stepped up to put the ball passed the keeper to make it 4-0 on 28mins and send us in at the break on a HIGH.

Nothing was needed to be said at half time as the lads from front to back had been brilliant so it was just continue doing what your doing other than that we made two changes just to give lads a little breather as it was a hot day replacing max with kieron and toby with ryan s.

The second half again started like the first with us in complete control playing some great football and on 39mins cameron won a free kick out on the right with a great little step over and lewis stepped up to smash the ball hard and high over the keepers head and into the back of the net to make it 5-0 although at first it looked like jack got the final touch but it was given to lewis and jack claiming the assist by doing is best to put off the keeper.

The defence were outstandimg in the second half working so hard together leaving billy with very lile to do in goal and with the midfield domanating the game i wasnt long before we went on a goal rampage with another 3 goals in 9mins first on 41mins smithy driled home from close range to make it 6-0 then on 45mins smithypicked out ryan s who did briliantly to get into space behind the defence to tap home to make it 7-0 and on 50mns cameron did well to follow up a well hit josh strike that the keeper spilt to slot home to make it 8-0 with still 10mins left to play.

We made two more changes first max replaced charlie with josh fillingin at center back and then toby replacing olie with smithy dropping in at left back changing the shape of the team ack to a 4-4-2 from a 4-5-1.

With time running out we had the chance for one more attack with smithy wining a corner kieron crossed i a pinpoint cross and with toby doing wll to lose his marker he flicked home a great header to make it 9-0 and complete an impressive win for the lads.

Man of the match went to kieron was a choice made by the players themselves which was a very close vote ony being won by the 1 vote.

Well done lads you keep playing like this and keep makig me a proud manager next up its pickwick so lets work hard i training and not take the game lightly as it will be a tough game.
