Away league match played on 04 December 2011.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

So here was are first real test in the league a game we knew would be game one of three title challenging games.

On a small pitch at farlington we were set for what would be a very tight and competative game.

Both teams started very confident and strong with most of the play being in the center of the field but that suited Smithy who threw himself into everything as always, you could sence the tension in the air from both sets of supporters though as to go into the xmas break 3 points clear would be a massive confidence boost.

As the game went on we grew and grew with confidence with Jack and BK holding the back four together shutting out any WPTs attack, along with Ryan and Ollie the midfield five of Smithy, Cameron, Alfie, Max and Kieron were getting the lions share of possesion working so hard to double up and close down any WPTs movement aswell as using the pace to get in behind there back four and course them problems, Zack was playing up top as a lone striker and gave there defence the run around aswell as taking a few harsh tackles one that should of given us and early pen after Alfie slipped him through there defender elbowed him in the head knocking him to the ground in the pen area just for the ref to let play go on.

It didnt take long for us to create the first real clear cut chance Alfie was played in by Kieron his shot was parried by the WPTs keeper falling kindly into the path of our goal machine Zack who took full advantage to tap home in the 16th min to get us 1-0 ahead, that helped us to settle into a free flowing rythem and knock the confidence of are hosts and we took full advantage with Cameron linking up well down the right with Max he swung in a brilliant cross that found Kieron who had found room in behind there defence cutting across the keeper to flick home our second on 26mins and make the score 2-0 just before the break, which knocked the stuffing out of WPTs.

Going in 2-0 to the good at half time was something we was not expecting although are work rate deserved the score, we didnt make any changes and told the lads that we just had to keep playing the same way and that the next goal was the all important goal as if we got it then it would be game over but we all knew what threat WPTs pose and if they got it then it would be game on.

Both teams again came out in the same vain with WPTs playing like they had nothing to lose making it a very open game which suited us all to the good as it gave us time and space to play our style of passing football creating space for are midfeild to get in behind there backline and as the game edged into the final 15mins Cameron slipped in Kieron to go through one on one with the keeper to calmly slot home to make it 3-0.

We made a few changes during the game with Sam, Josh, Charlie and Joel replacing Alfie and Zack due to injuries and Ryan and Ollie.

Running out 3-0 winners was a result we were not expecting but one that are performance deserved, we were on top for the mojority of the game and also created the best chances Billy was limited the just one real effort but he saved that in style.

Man of the Match went to Cameron who was the thorn in WPTs backside all game creating chances and goals aswell as working hard to regain posession.

Well done lads lets take this into next weekend Hampshire cup game as it will be a real test but am confident we will play well and get the result.

3 ponits clear going into xmas its not over by a long shot yet but its a big boost with just 7 games remaining, Well done lads.
