Home league match played on 19 September 2010.
Kicked off at 2:00 AM

With me away it was the duty of darren with the assistance of glen wilson to take charge of his first game starting with a 4-4-2 and with kieron and josh on the bench we was hoping that we would finaly start off the stronger team.

Horndean were to kick off and you could see straight from the whistle that Horndean came with alot of confidence again catching us sleeping from the kick off putting us under instant pressure and on the back foot forcing us into making silly mistakes, creating chances and within the first 15mins forcing billy into making a handful of saves to keep us level.

Are early chances were limited to just a lewis free kick which flashed past the post and with Horndean in total control it wasnt a supprise when there pressure paid off with a little bit of luck catching us sleeping at the back Horndean went 1-0 ahead with a shot deflected past the helpless billy.

That slowly started to wake us up with jack making the keeper work from a shot from the edge of the area, however again it was horndean who looked more likely to score again with billy making a couple more great saves to keep it down to just the 1 goal.

Kieron replaced toby after 24mins which ed a little bit more of pace and creativity to are attacking play and within moments great play in midfield set smithy away to smash a stike against the post and then with time ticking away in the first half jack set ryan s through on goal to slot home on 29mins to set us in on the break level at 1-1

What ever was said at half time seemed to work and within seconds of the re-start kieron headed home a rare headed goal to make it 2-1 that should of given us the confidence to push forward but on 40mins picking up on a lose ball in midfield Horndean court us knapping forcing billy into a rare error to grab an equiliser and make it 2-2.

That however spured us on to get a grip hold of the game creating 3 chances within mins of each other first a great shot from jack was well saved then a rebound was turned wide by ryan s and a quick break set kieron away to shot straight at the keeper.

Josh replaced ryan s and within moments was involved in the build up to are 3rd with lewis smashing in a dipping shot over the keepers head from 30yards to make it 3-2 on 44mins that soon become 4-2 on 48mins with toby coming off the bench to head home from close range, that should of been game over however as we all know the boys dont do things the easy way and on 50mins a miss placed pass was intersepted by a Horndean player to make it 4-3 and to set up a very tence finish to the game.

With darren pulling his hair out watching us create but not finish chances it looked as like we could be punished for not having the killer instinct infront of goal but fortunatly we dug deep sniffed out any Horndean chance and finished the game 4-3 winners proving we can dig deep work hard and win even when were not at are best.

Man of the match went to smithy for his all round tireless performance showing again why he is such a great signing and are vice captain.

This match report is thanks to Shim Taylor its much appriciated and i think il get you to do it every week, lol so a big thanks to you.

Well done lads for another win but lets learn from are mistakes and start learning to start off a game the way we should with alot of pace confidence and team work as your all capable of playing so much better and we are yet to see the best of you yet so lets pick it up and start killing games off and taking are chances as the effort and work rate is there but we have got to be more roofless infront of goal.
