so one of our two defeats reversed as we beat gateacre a lot easier than even the 4-0 scoreline suggests ,as for long periods of the match we coasted and hasd plenty left in us to step up  a few gears.we started well enough and had a couple of early chances before taking the lead in the 8th minute when telfers low cross in caused confusion in a very uncertain defence who couldnt clear properly the ball found its way to kav outside the box who drilled it low back into the corner of the net. we carried on attacking but unusually for us gaps were appearing through the middle as we had made one enforced change with ross out injured we moved rolo back which allowed telfer to come back in up front which to a small degree left tommo a bit more exposed, but as usual the defence coped with everything thrown at it with robbo having to make just two saves all half the first of which was quite superb. we then thought doffo had doubled our lead when he rose up and headed a corner which hit the back of the net then bounced out unbelievably the ref waved play on sying it had hit the bar! then compounded it by giving them the throw in to gateacre after they had whacked it away, its fair to say i wasnt very happy and said a few choice words to him which luckily for me he choose not to hear as he was to busy arguing with robbo who had clearly seen it go in from 100 yards away.we did score a second soon after when rolo tried his luck from 20 yards which was so mishit it totally bamboozled the keeper into letting it go through his legs, the ref gave this one even though it didnt have enough power on it to reach the back of the net. so 2-0 at half time and all in all apart from the two saves a fairly comfortable 45 minutes.

the 2nd half started in the same vein with us in total control and starting to put a few passes together which resulted in us getting round the back of them a lot more and kav doffo and telf all had chances to increase our lead.we even gave kev colfar an extended run against his old team to see if he could add one when john had to come off when his back started hurting again. finally we increase our lead but it took us until the 70 th minutewhen a through ball from tommo sent kav away and he finished neatly into the corner. this then gave us the chance to give run outs to liam and alex taking the places of the unlucky doffo and paul hilton who had easilyhis best game of the season as he covered and mopped up all over the back line as well as starting a good few attacks ,and just beat the faultless robbo to man of the match. after a couple of half chances came and went for kev we finally scored a fourth near the end when a long ball from rolo was flicked on by kev and telf ran on and knocked it past the keeper with ease.

so that completed the scoring 4-0 but could just as easily been 6 or 7 plus we can play a lot better than that should give us a lot of heart for the upcoming weeks especially what promises to be a much tougher test in the cup away in kirkby against quarry green, win that and the double is really on ,but just as long as we keep our feet on the ground all keep turning up and keep getting our attitude correct we really shouldnt have too much to fear except our own complacency. so well done lads one defeat revenged one to go.
