nicely back in the groove

so after last weeks blip we came out and played some really good football to secure a deserved and much needed win at thomas lane. a couple of changes where made if we had a bigger squad it would have been more and robbo came back in goal after his injury though he stayed on the side lines longer than anticipated due to vineys good form(which was even commented on at last nights league meeting by a couple of managers). the difference in attitude was there for all to see from the kick-off as we attacked from all directions and after only 10 minutes we wasted at least 5 good chances with a mixture of half hearted shooting and good goal keeping and even a goal line clearance. it took us 20 minutes to finally take the lead when another run and cross from ryan set up tommo for a simple finish after coming in undetected.we soon doubled it when kav sent kev clear and this time he made no mistake.there where no more goals in the 1st half which was a little disappointing as the quality of football from front to back was as good this week as it was bad last and was probably wasted against limited oppenents who had a few who  didnt really seem up for the game.

the 2nd half started in similar fashion mostly one way traffic with the very odd breakaway.we waited for 15 mins before the third to make the game completely safe when another great run from ryan saw him slip the ball across were kav was facing the wrong way so just decided to back heel it in from 8 yards as you do! we then went to sleep for the only time in the game letting a midfielder run unoppposed onto a long ball to bring themselves  into the game . we brought john on to keep the game stretched and we soon scored a 4th when telf got the tap in from another ryan run and cross he was having a field day. soon after he decided to get into the act when a lay-off from telf saw him hit a shot over the keeper and dip under the bar from the corner of the box for the best goal of the daythe just after john layed him on and ryan did it agaain from the other side of the area but just a bit more central. the keeper got wise just after and jumped early to catch a lob as he went for his hat=trick.

so all in all a good day to wipe out last weeks bad memories now with a big game coming up and then plenty of other games coming thick and fast including 3 double headers one on a thursday! plus a cup semi on easter sunday gents dont get bullied into taking the kids out unless to clubmoor! it was good to give nearly everyone a run out because were going to need you all in our quest for honours. might seem strange but sunday 4th v6th could be a title decider with all the games in hand we both have(not trying to put pressure on you to stay in saturday like lads!) so lets keep the football going like from this game and we definately wont be far away.

p.s. if anyone else besides paul h and kev wants to put a comment on it would be nice cos were getting lonely on there!
