Home league match played on 06 September 2012.
Kicked off at 6:30 PM

only our 2nd game in and yes we had to make 5 changes from sunday but there was still no excuse for the attitude we showed in our 1st defeat in only the 2nd game of the season. with 3 working and 2 more injured we brought ashley in at right back started john , kev colfar ,dale and paul hilton for what will be a rare appearance this season. we started off sluggish  but still created chances but were unable to trouble viney in their goal. i know i wished him good luck when he left after spending so long with us but this is definately not what i meant! we did create a couple of early chances with aaron blasting over when he needed to lob viney, plus dale hit a couple of long range efforts that didnt test him either. after half an hour we woke up after a couple of scares and finally took the lead when a long clearance by paul hilton found its way through to asser who rounded the keeper to finish well.

even with the lead we still didnt push on and allowed the game to become scrappy which suited them as all they had was the odd long ball which in the main we were dealing with comfortably but were still unable to get the midfield involved which meant we couldnt control the game as we would have liked and which we are capale of against teams at this level. then right on the stroke of half-time we conceded a corner and following a goalmouth scramble in which robbo made a couple of blocks we couldnt clear and eventually the ball ended up in the net to make the hslf-time score 1-1.

the 2nd half unfortunatley we started the 2nd half in the same fashion ,just not getting the ball down and playing our football but even worse not matching them for work-rate and 10 minutes into the half a long ball caught us out was allowed to bounce and the forward ran on and knocked it past robbo with no one getting a challenge in.we made a double sub to try and liven things up bringing a couple of new lads on in  place of kev and dale they did ok seeing as they hardly new anyone but it didnt really change the pattern of play even though we now were starting to create a couple of chances nainly through the long ball. it didnt help that the ref wasnt giving us anything especially any benefit of the doubt on the off sides but as on sunday our totally wrong reputation of assaulting refs is going before us and seems to be influencing them. the game really was stop/start but later on we did have a couple of chances with tommo in his last game for a while heading over from close range andasser and doffo both going close but overall it petered out and we lost with a bit of a whimper .

so anothewr thursday defeat  but one that should have been so easily avoided with a bit of extra effort all around the park especially when we didnt have the ball ,its something we will have to work on as a bad attitude when the players all have the ability to do well at this level will not be tolerated and changes will be made until we find the right formation, saying this it will improve when we get key players fit and on the pitch regularly its just a pity we wont see tommo there as much as we would like. but we will get better as long as we go on the pitch with the right attitude and match other teams workrate the wins will start coming on a regular basis starting tomorrow at printworks.
