Home league match played on 31 October 2015.
Kicked off at 5:00 PM

After a couple of weeks of haze which cancelled games island wide, the sky cleared and the league resumed for incepcion. This week's opponents are Dragon Knights, which Incepcion beat on the season opener. Since then, Dragon Knights have been rooted at the bottom of the table with only one win.

Due to some regulars not being on time, the game started with the several players given the chance to shine. DK started the game brightly stoking the ball around with confidence unlike Incepcion, who struggled to even string 3-4 passes together. DK looked more dangerous with their slick open play while Incepcion struggled and only threatened with dead ball set pieces and trademark long throws into the penalty area from Damo and Daryl. Incepcion were unlucky but DK broke the deadlock with their first corner, which was spectacularly headed into the top corner giving Kim (Our guest keeper) absolutely NO CHANCE, by our very own midfield star, Ron. Incepcion had their chances after that with a long range free kick taken by Daryl, which was well saved by the keeper. First half ended 1-0 to DK.

Second half started slightly earlier than expected as the skies threatened to pour. Incepcion made several changes and on came Colin for his first start after a month's off with injury. An immediate impact he made with several good runs and a fine through ball to Richard whom unfortunately couldn’t finish. After that, it was DK who made their chances count when a long ball beat the offside trap and their striker managed to round Kim and slot home. Their 3rd goal was scored when their speedy striker left everyone in the defence for dead and sprinted from the middle, finishing coolly. Game was unfortunately halted at the 60 minutes when the lighting alarm went off and game had to be abandoned. Phiew...One might have thought Incepcion was going to get their 3rd loss with a rugby score.

Incepcion suffered their first loss after a fine run of 5 games and ironically, to the bottom side. Some said his was like the FA cup where many premier league teams were knocked out. The reason why DK won today was simple. They had more desire to win this. And it's all the players who turned up had the same desire. Unlike Incepcion, who looked well prepared pre-game, but lack the final ingredients for a fight.

This week has no MOM as all played poorly. Being champions for this season is unlikely in my opinion (but I welcome people who think otherwise to rebut me and ultimately prove it on the field) so let's finish this by being a strong second and perhaps do better in the cup competition which follows after the season.

See you all this weekend.

Cheers,

SK
