Home friendly match played on 07 February 2015.
Kicked off at 5:00 PM

A relief when we turned up to see a bunch of players resembling more like the age group we were in. First half started with a new look team with an unfamiliar back four and Colin playing just behind Harold in attack. After 15 mins, Incepcion conceded a throw in near the corner flag and after a long throw in by the opponent, the ball somehow bounced and missed everyone including Sherman. 1-0 to Team Eagles. Incepcion struggled to string passes together and Eagles made it 2 nil with a tap in from a cross which eluded the back four. First half, 2-0 in favor to the Eagles.

Half time talk was to play with more passion and intent. Second half saw Incepcion changing to the 4-4-2 formation to try chase down the game and get an early goal. It duly came with Colin having an opportunist shot which caught the keeper out of position. From then on, Incepcion took a hold of the game with chances for both Colin and Harold. Both unfortunately missing them with just the keeper to beat. Colin then managed to score the equalizer with another fine shot into the bottom left corner. Final score, 2-2 draw.

Couple of things: Midway through the second half also saw a shouting match which nearly threatened to a free for all. We need to sometimes exercise some restrain when such things happens. I am also guilty at times but let’s all concentrate on soccer when we meet on Saturdays. I read somewhere today that it's not about abilities when playing soccer but actually it's the efforts which makes the differences. The second half just shows exactly this and what we are actually capable of. So well done all for the comeback.

This week's MOM goes to Colin for dragging us out from the jaws of an embarrassing defeat with his 2 well taken goals. Well done Colin!

We will have an international break for the next 2 weeks with lots of players going back to their national teams. I know at least one each for Scotland, England and Canada. So see you all after CNY.

I will also be having a CNY gathering for the team on the 22nd at my place. So those guys without national duties, you are free to come. I will be sending out the invites soon so I need a show of hands who are coming. Happy CNY in advance!

Cheers,

SK
