INCEPCION FOOTBALL CLUB 2 vs 5 Woodlands Devilz

Thrashed by a team that was superior to us. But we did well, considering the circumstances that we were in. Major talking point was Ron scoring two rugby conversions.

We returned to Bowen Sec for again this week to play against this team called Woodlands Devilz. This is properly a team in transition. The youngsters outnumbered the veterans. We struggled with numbers and were fortunate to find Lawrence Heavey playing the 3pm game and got him to play for us as well. We also got a new player, John, joining us for the first time.

Things didn’t get off to a good start as we went down 1-0 in the 3rd minute. We then conceded 2 more goals as we failed to cope with their fast and skilful youngsters. There was a veteran playing forward and he caused us a lot of problems with his movement, strength and quality. The 2 late comers then came on and combined to score for us to pull it 3-1. Max wriggled his way free in midfield and put a long ball down the right which Dave reached and he scored a screamer at the near post. Half time then came.

While we struggled, we did played well in my opinion. The effort was there and we created a few chances. Halftime talk was about keeping the opponents at bay and try to target the left back.

Second half was further crap. Colin scoring a lousy penalty and Ron missed 2 sitters.
