Kiwi FC were up for another chance to shine in a cup run against the mighty league 2 Dynamo FC, word on the street the gaffer had kept this vital information quiet as it was a crucial tactic for Kiwi FC not getting ahead of themselves thinking the 3 points will be easily handed to them.

Some could argue we had another unplayable surface but the fellas were fizzed and looking bloody sharp in their new personalised Stoke Travel warm up kits, this seemed to attract the first decent support crowd Kiwi FC have had in some years…another reason for some to impress.

Another strong starting line up and another strong 5-minute warm up led by the newly announced captain Connor ‘Racist’ Ryan, as he was given the armband from the injured Finn 'side-line drunk' Cahill-Fleury. Starting in a 5-3-3 with the defence looking very strong with the likes of Mason and Liam Williams back in the team, it was very evident within the first five miniutes Liam was the better of the William brothers only to have played a handful of game’s this season. The first half consisted of some below average footy, but Kiwi FC brought the physicality up front with Pollock and Milne eagerly hungry for goal opportunities. The score line comes into half time 0-0.

After what seems to be some familiar advice to play with some ‘belief’ and ‘mana’ from the Gaffer Finn and a small change upfront bringing on Ollie ‘turtle neck’ Haanen, Kiwi FC started off pressing high and putting Dynamo FC under pressure it was only a matter of time Xavi pinned a ball to Rauri where he was able to head the ball calmly into the back of the net, a well deserved lead for Kiwi FC.

A second half of ups and downs Dynamo FC started to gain some momentum and were stringing some passes together and putting the fellas under pressure. Some encouragement from the skipper to slow the game down, Sin Bin Seb had another strong challenge and another dramatic time wasting tactic laying face first in the dirt which Jamiee ‘runaway from the ball’ pollock appreciated to catch a breath. 1-0 up and 10 minutes to go Ben 'Bruiser' Thomas made a crucial diving header to defend a whipping ball that came in…Dynamo FC corner. Kiwi FC couldn’t believe there eyes where it appeared that Blair was running onto another pitch to collect the ball for Dynamo FC, however he made up for this brain explosion and started the final counter attack for the smooth Ollie 'Turtle neck' Haneen to slot the ball into the bottom corner of the opposition goal, 2-0 full time to Kiwi FC.

A special mention to Xaxi as MOTM with a solid performance a right back.

To celebrate the win and as dry Jan was coming to an end, the boys were itching to get back to see Molly at The Wandle where the boys had a few beers and few more laughs about Seb getting denied 3 times on 3 different occasions for her number. Ollie ‘turtleneck’ Haanen in smooth criminal form from his last weeks antics and myself ruining a ‘what if’ I didn’t say that moment.

The fellas were over the moon to hear Big Birds confirmed attendance for the end of Season Trip to Barcelona, an agenda that no body will want to miss! Kiwi FC have this coming weekend off to celebrate the Treaty of Waitangi in good old Kiwi fashion.
