Sun 10 Oct 2010  League Lakes United 2 Aaron Saville (1)   Luke Bennett (1)   Marstons FC 4

Another day that lakes united throw 3 points away when they (in the words of the spectators " were in control and played like a team"

Marstons took the lead just 10 minutes into the match when a ball over the top of chris cooper found the lakes defence flat footed and nathan no where to be seen, 1-0 marstons.

Lakes as said previously, did have the better play and this paid off when a corner was awarded, a great ball in which connected perfectly on lukes head to level it out.

1-1 half time.

From the 2nd half break lakes looked the strongest and could have took the lead with a series of corners and free kick, only for the chance to go swondered by the 2 up front. The marstons 2nd came from a ball which came loose just outside the lakes area, a sliding tackle from lee bounced to a marstons player to be slotted away.

Lakes equalised by what can only be known by a wonder goal, aaron left footed over the wall to nesstle in the bottom right corner of the net.

This is where it went wrong.

Marstons 3rd and 4th came from ball through which found the lakes defence static and looking at each other, only for the marston striker to round nathan to slot away.

Good things to come from this and a lot of sad players as the result wasn't in our favour.
