Colts under 9 blues ?? vs Omania green?? Sunday 1 October 2023
A too early 9:30 kick off but at least dry and warm at shenley fields.
The first couple of minutes set the tone for the game with lots of pressure on both sides and Jonas making a great save early on.
2 minutes in and Jonas made a confident throw from goal to Sufyan, with a pass to Alby who took it up the line to a well positioned Henry another pass to Cian (again nicely positioned) back to Henry now in the box who put it over the goalies head into the net. The coach said this is the best play of the season from goalkeeper to goal with each excellent pass.

The Greens used the centre kick keeping possession and winning a throw in they made a break and got an equaliser.
3m: ??1-1??
As the first half progressed the pressure from the Colts continued with a long shot at goal from Alby and whenever the visitors caught a chance on the rebound Arthur was there with some great defending and positional play. Another chance came when Omonia were making a break for it to the Colts half, Arthur caught the ball and passed it up towards the Omonia goal where Alby took possession and got it onto his left foot for a powerful shot in the top corner.

The Colts carried on the attack with a free kick that just missed the goal and some great defending and passing between Arthur and Cian. Alby was fouled by a green and awarded a free kick on the left of the pitch just before the half way line. He kicked it perfectly over the defenders heads and straight into the goal.
12m: ??3-1??
The Colts continued with all the possession in the green half. There were a number of chances including one shot at goal that landed on the line before being saved by the goalie! Substitutions follows and Elliot and Arthur both had shots at the goal. A ball heading back into the colts half was then caught by George with a well placed pass to Oscar, Oscar got a strong strike at goal with the goalie just getting to it but not getting control of it. Alby was there to put it back in the back of the net on the rebound.

For the remainder of the first half there was some really strong defending from George and Arthur. The greens won a free kick with a great couple of saves from Jonas. To end the first half the blues took a corner, sticking with a set play of a short ball from Oscar to Arthur who put it in the box.
HT: ??4-1??
The second half started with the same possession and attack from the Colts with some fresh legs from Ziyad and Cian to give us a boost. Oscar had a great shot at goal and was unlucky to whack the cross bar.
There was some great passing between Henry and Elliot, more great defending from George and a great save from Jonas. The greens managed to get a second goal and this seemed to give them a boost.

The second goal gave the greens a boost and they were on the attack with more possession. The colts made some substitutions to bring fresh legs on and this paid off with the Colts getting possession back followed shots at goal by Henry and Alby. There was some brilliant passing between Henry, Oscar, Alby and Cian. The final goal came from a corner taken by Alby with a short pass to Sufyan who had positioned himself well, he crossed it in for a touch by Henry through to Oscar all positioned perfectly and Oscar booted it straight in for a very definite win by the Colts.

The hard work from the coaches and players is paying off. Well done Blues!
