SEMI FINAL OF THE LEAGUE CUP

MARY DENDY 2-3 WINNINGTON 1987 aet

Full time 2-2 ...

half time 1-2

The way i feel at the moment that was my last Dendy game. I find it too frustrating to watch. My idea of the best players and the clubs are too different. My argument has always been play your best players at the start. Again today i was surprised at the starting 11. I would have played Dan with Tom up front and would have played Sprucie at the start. The way Dan was treated today was the straw that broke the camels back. Last week they wanted Dan as a striker so he left Courtney at home. He got on for the last 10 mins of the half and then were going to sub him at half time. Just as he was getting into the game he was taken off in the second half.

The game was normal Dendy game gifted the first goal. and a winner at the death from a dead ball header.

I have watched Dendy for a few years now and seen good players come and go for one reason and another and i will always have a soft spot for them. But this is a Saturday league. If they are always going to play regulars and mates they will always struggle.

Today their was far too much changing of subs. Even Winnington thought we had two teams. Yes we played well in defence with Jack and Adam again filling the front of the defence well.

At the end i could see, maybe incorrectly that Tom Wake didn't have confidence to pass to people and tried to do it on his own.

I take it too seriously and when i see players on the bench that should be on it bothers me too much.

I know the hard work put in to keep the club going and have always enjoyed the lads and the pub but now the football is getting too frustrating for me.
