Wolves continued their winning streak!

With a previous result which couldn't decide a winner, Wolves have much to prove against Star FC this time round, a strong team of 22 Wolves was awaiting for them.

We got really lucky with our first corner, with Leonard almost doing a spectacular bicycle kick, the ball eventually ended up on one of Star's arms. Penalty given. Edwin took it from the spot and redeemed himself from the miss last week.

Just two minutes after, Edwin kept the pressure high and forced a retreat from the defenders and eventually gave a deadly back pass back to the goalie and into the net, own goal.

Alex also picked up a needless yellow for handling the ball with his hands, totally unnecessary! Guys, please note that we are currently having the highest number of yellows in the league!

With the two lucky moments, we ended first half with two goals in front. Second half restarted with 10 changes from our side, including rare appearance from Edward Lim coming in for goalkeeper.

Again, we failed to keep the ball and allowed Star FC to play smoothly theirs. They kept the pressure high and tight, forcing Edward to make a couple of good saves but still failed to keep Yeo Han Xiang's own goal away from our net.

Right after that, Star FC keep their shots pouring in, but our veteran goalie managed to carry on his excellent form and hold our lead. Star FC came close into equalizing with just the keeper to bet, but blasted it way out.

With everything looking into favor for Star's side, Welson managed to find Weihao Ng along the backline and he took on the defenders and down to the byline and forces a corner. 80th minute, Melvin took the corner kick and found Welson unmarked, nodded the ball into the net with much style. 3-1! certainly killed the game off.

To sum it up, overall performance was below our usual standard, with possession ratio higher for the opponent's side, estimated 45%:55%. Did not managed to string more than 5 passes in both halves. Dint have much creativity in our attacking plays, but defense was once again rock solid. Midfield was left much of a big hole specially during second half. Forwards were almost left out of action during the first half, and not much better during the second.

Even though we managed to grab a win, we did not perform at our best today and that's something for everyone to think about. Currently we're sitting tight on 2nd placing with just 1 point behind the leaders, and only 4games to go. If we want to achieve results, we need to maintain our form and consistency. We do acknowledge the fact of pairing different players in these games but we will certainly find the best fit for the utmost interest of MWFC, so meanwhile, communicate more with each other to play out each others' best performance!

Once again Edwin clinched MOM against Star FC for the 2nd time, his outstanding performance and contribution for today's game were the main factors for the award. Congrats!

Lastly, thanks again for all the support to spend time off your busy schedules for the fixture, be it coming down to play or watch Wolves perform! (jack, chye, keegan, WAGs x 2)
