(Match report)

Dramatic turn-around with Valkyrie sealing victory by pure luck || Defensive mistakes by MWFC was costly

Goals that MWFC conceded in the 2-3 loss to Valkyrie was sloppy and could be avoided. The game ended with a dramatic run after a 80th minute equalizer by Shane, but Valkyrie managed to seal the victory by luck in the dying minutes of the game.

First of all, the pitch was in a horrendous condition to play in and the main referee's decision making was one of the worst that we've encountered ( The X-League (Singapore) please take note)

With just 20mins into the game, MWFC was trailing by a goal down. Defensive mistake by the captain was costly and Valkyrie managed to slot in the gift into an empty net.

First equalizer came not long after and it was created by Melvin whom sent in an almost perfect cross into the area and JJ managed to shake off his defender and headed in the goal, beauty from the midfielder!

Then, another defensive mistake by MWFC kept the opponents ahead of the race.

First half ended with a cracking shot by the Vice-capt's long range effort but it rattled across the crossbar. Then, MWFC's possesion was 60-40.

1-2 at half-time, MWFC looked even more determined to comeback at the second half. With just minutes into second half, MWFC was banging doors of Valkyrie but just couldn't manage to crack a goal out of it. After which, attacks from MWFC just kept pouring in but still couldn't find the equalizing goal.

MWFC wasn't going to end the battle without a fight, possession of the game was 80-20 at that time. Valkyrie was literally having every player behind the ball and MWFC just kept attacking but balls were cleared continuously. MWFC's forwards should have done a lot better in their finishing especially the effort by Weihao's close range volley was saved by the opponent goalkeeper.

Edwin's contribution was largely influential as he kept the midfield in shape and started off all the attacks. Alongside him was Sam whom was subbed in during half-time to add more flair into the game.

Game changing moment came at 80th min, brilliant effort by Shane whom managed to dribble past 3 defenders and blasted a long range shot which the goalkeeper totally had no chance to savage it, what a goal for an equalizer indeed! At that moment, MWFC was determined to kill the game off with a high, continuous attack was sprayed and it was just awaiting for another moment to grab the winner.

However, the situation was turned around at the dying minutes in the extra time. With the horrendous condition of the pitch, PC lost his footing at his own half and the opponent managed to grab the opportunity and went on to score the winner.

Tough luck Wolves! Heads up! We had a played a very beautiful game today, however luck wasn't on our side, so does the pitch and the refereeing decisions. We ended the game with 80-20 possession, countless of opportunities. We just have to come back stronger in all departments and we will see victory in the next upcoming game.
