(Match report)

A pulsating MWFC performance saw them run riot against Lion Heart FC, 4 goals were netted in the first half and the match ended with a fantastic victory for the hungry Wolves.

Having zero points in the past two games, MWFC needed nothing less than a win to keep up the momentum. MWFC got off to the perfect start when Ryan tapped in goal from Edwin's backheel assist to put them ahead just 15mins.

It was like a floodgate opened after the first goal being scored, goals just kept coming in. MWFC gave Lion Heart's defence no respite with their fluent and attacking football as they took a stranglehold on the match. The Lions were also starved of possession in attack and they rarely looked like levelling, due to a mixture of poor play and a determined Wolves' side.

Raymond's outstanding display in the flanks managed to create an opening for Edwin and he comfortably slotted the second goal for Wolves. Wolves was controlling the game well throughout and pressuring high up in Lion's half. Lions could not handle the pressure and a loose pass back into the heart of the defence allowed Ryan to get hold of the ball and with much composure, he placed a shot into the back of the net. What a superb goal!

First half was much concluded after Edwin's freekick that took the keeper by surprise with much height and pace and it went straight into the net. Wolves ended the first half with a splendid performance, goal frenzy!

Second half started with a much revamp side by Lions but it was still alittle too late to barely instill any fear factors in the game as Wolves was beaming with confidence in every play that they had. However, the sun was up and it got a little too hot which resulted in slower movements and play on the pitch.

Weihao's goal was created by Edwin (MOM) whom managed to spot his run and gave a decisive through ball which sliced Lion's defense up like a hot knife through a butter block, Weihao seized his chance and netted the fifth goal. It was almost a job done when the fifth goal was scored!

Despite playing in an unfamiliar role in the heart of defence for Kelvin Lim, he've shown great versatility in his play and impressed many for this game. It was a new partnership between the back four but they defended well as an unit throughout the 90mins. Kudos to the gate keepers!

However there was a few hiccups that allowed Lions to got through the defence line and landed in an one-on-one situation twice but Raymond (GK) managed to keep both out, superb goalkeeping there!

Lion's strike from a setpiece play which landed a goal was too late to give them a way back into the game and their frustration boiled over when their players appeared to be arguing with the match officials. Wolves kept their cool and composure, continue playing a beautiful game but was unsuccessful in finding more goals after that.

Great victory and finally the first win for this season came with much delight!
