Away league match played on 23 January 2011.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Our 100% league record is still in tact.

We played better this week, although Canterbury Rovers could have proved more difficult if they were more organised. They had a very young team and some good players, but at times were narrow and didn’t pose too many problems for us.

Again we had so many chances to score and had most of the possession; it was nice football to watch. But the defence were caught on the break and the Rovers took the lead. A through ball splits our defence for the Rovers number 9 to run through and cross into the box.  The Rovers other forward turns on a six pence to drill home (good goal, but poor defending)

But the Millers were soon back level and well on top. A class Hugo corner met by Luke, who leapt like a salmon and scored with a bullet header (he told me to write that lol). Then soon after came our second, Lewis did some great work down the right to cross into the area for Dave to slot home (great goal).

We were so much on top at this point making so many chances.  Hugo and Liam did well in the centre; the pitch wasn’t good more like Margate beach then a football pitch. The ball didn’t bounce at all, as Neil found out late in the game trying the clear only to kick a whole lot of air lol.

Canterbury seemed to play most of their football through the centre so it was very congested in the middle.

Our third came from Adam who lead the line well, the defence seemed to stop after Dave had treaded the ball through and Adam was first to react to score from close range.

Liam then scored the fourth, some good pass and move play from Jim and Dave on the left wing. Dave passed over the defence for Liam to score a great goal from a tight angle.

We got our fifth just before half time, again Dave (who had a great game) picked up the ball from Jim ran at the defenders then back out to Jim on the left wing. Jim crossed a great ball which was met by Adam, keeper blocked the shot but Adam was there to tuck in the rebound.

Neil and Kaylem came on for Lewis and Benny (both had solid games) Neil went to right back and Kaylem went up front. That meant that Mike went to centre back and Dave came into right mid.

The double change seemed to make us a bit ragged and the Rovers scored. Ball passed behind the defence for Rovers number 9 to cross and some how a Rovers player got between two defenders to score.

Adam soon scored his well deserved hat-trick, ball in from Liam which found its way to Adam to score.

Then came the PENALTY!! Kev will say he kicked the ball, and then during the follow trough he kicked the underneath of the attacker’s foot. MY ARSE lol, he swiped at the ball and kicked the attackers legs. Either way, clear pen.

So the score for anyone who has lost count is 3-7.

Just enough time for Kaylem to score, a powerful shot into the roof of the net. Adam had a shot saved which fell to Kaylem. A great shot which may have taken a slight deflection, but was going in anyway.

So the score 3-8 and I still know we can play better. Everyone played well so you all deserve a pat on the back.

Next week we have Whitstable who we haven’t played yet, so lets no take this for granted and get another win.

Im sorry if I have put the goals, assists down wrong but I can’t remember the exact type of goal etc. If you have any changes you want to make please get in touch.
