I am bored of doing these reports. Really need to delegate this task next week.

I think it’s unfair we keep talking about Lionel in our reports but he just keeps setting us up. I really don’t know where to start this week, the child like tantrum when he arrived 20 mins late? The warm up drill that was implemented while we awaited the arrival of the ref? The reaction to the lack of spirit of football shown by the oppo (I thought they were ok bar No.11), but as I said it’s not fair we keep talking about him so this week I will leave it at that. Here’s an idea, maybe he will do the match report next week??

Anyway, back to the football. We drew after a 6 game winning streak. It would have felt like a loss but it was so cold that it was hard to have any feelings. The pitch was pretty much unplayable down the centre and as it was narrow it didn’t allow us to use the ‘’wingers’’ (that’s for your PT) to full effect.  We were on the back foot from word go and to be honest was only a matter of time when they scored. It came eventually from a nicely placed finish to the top corner which Jake had no chance. We managed to get back in the game through a well-earned penalty from Liam which was coolly tucked away by Paul once he was able to locate the penalty spot. From what I remember we took the lead shortly after HT from a lovely finish from Omar. See for yourselves  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ven4AwlV53c the video does Omar no justice as it was Wellbeck esc finish, not sure about girly celebrations him and Jack get involved in though, pretty much rolling on the floor together…worrying.

Anyway – after that it all went wrong, they scored pretty much straight away when they broke down their left hand side and whipped in a cross that flew over Jake’s head. Lucky ba****ds. I don’t remember their 3rd other than it came from the same side and I don’t think it was my fault which is a  plus for me I guess considering my nightmare show the week before. We kept going and eventually it paid off when an over hit pass from Benotelli was chased down by Yorath and forced a mix up between the keeper and last defender and allowed Dave to coolly stick it away for his 4th of the season (come on Ringo keep up). A lesson to our younger members from Dave, as he just does not give up. It finished 3-3 all and back to the pub for in my opinion the best post game food to date, our resident vegetarian might not agree.

Oh I nearly forgot about the email exchange between Dave’s Mrs and Ringo. Great work by Ringo during the week and a promise of some DIY work and a box of mint chocolates meant Dave was allowed out to play for the day. Message to the Chairman,Ringo would like to know the ruling on expensing chocolates?

Man of the match was Mr Taylor again. His third of the season, he celebrated by going home and deciding to get a dog, Arnie who now replaces Henri as the team mascot.
