Away league match played on 29 September 2012.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

They only have 10 men they only have 10 men.....

Meads 7s frustrating start to the season continues as we leave Barnes empty handed after playing against 10 men for half the game. We had chance after chance but yet could not breakthrough, when we did it was disallowed! The game kicked off late due to the late arrival of the home team, the pitch not ready to be played on and the dressing rooms locked waiting on a caretaker who no one could understand!

Meads started the brighter but was to be expected against 10 men.Omar nearly scored a goal of the season contender after a cross from the left from Shaz, the young lad pulled off an amazing overhead kick but with the ball flying in the top corner their keeper equaled Omar's effort with a fantastic one handed save and pushed it behind for one of our 20 corners (at least)

Later as the half went on both Ringo and Dave came close and Omar again had couple of 1/2 chances....surely it was only a matter of time.......... 0-0 at the break.

With our starting strikers having no luck Reza who was introduced before HT brought a new spark to the game and after the break found himself in on goal but unfortunately could not find the target and the ball rolled agonizingly wide. The hosts were now playing with the full complement of 11 players and had moved their keeper outfield after he had kept them in the game this long went on to make the difference up front for them. He could have actually finished on a hat-trick if it was not for some decent saves from Joe who kept us in the game right to the end.

Their goal came with about 15 minutes to go and not long after we had a goal wrongly chalked off for offside. A counter attack and some of our back four trying to play offside (can we stop doing this please) left their keeper now their striker through on goal and managed to fire it passed Joe. Meads ended with a couple more 1/2 chances but just could not break through.

Three games in, 0 goals from open play, two of the three goals conceded from trying to play offsite we  have a lot of work to do to avoid a relegation battle similar to last year. The pressure is mounting on our strikers, but I got a feeling Ringo will put at least two away this weekend…….no pressure mate!
