radley went to abingdon town today in the berks and bucks cup which town have been the holders of for the last two seasons. towns history is second to none winning the last 3 seasons of the ombl a league various cup final wins and tournament wins. this was going to be a very tough encounter after last seasons whitewash of 17, 0 in the cup to them.from the start town pinned radley back with there flair players but radley dug in and soacked up the early pressure. towns first goal after 10 mins when radley was a bit rash and one of ours tried jumping in on a tackle which the town play rode and slotted in. one down and it was comming to be honest but radley didnt give up.town dominated the middle of the park with crisp passing and shutting down.owen and ryan battled but with town pressing high in our half at times it looked they had two players each to mark. as the half went on radley got into there stride and knocked the ball round with ease and some good play on the left where sol ryan brad and charlie must of put 10 passes together andmade the town players look like statues. town had a couple of half chances but matty wasnt really put under much pressure to be honest.then the moment that lads dream about. radley started passing the ball with neat work and high tempo down the right again and opended up town with ease, ball went into corey and withback against goal he layed off brad to smash one right footed from about 30yards out over the top of there goalkeeper to send radley in at halftime 1,1. all i can say is that the goal meaned so much to all the radley players and poor old brad got mobbed by ten radley players right in front of the dugout. whistle blows for halftime and you could sense that town didnt like how that half panned out for them.fair play to radley they knew that they had another half to attend with but for that 10 mins them lads were buzzing. town was lead straight into the dressing room for a roasting i guess and there parents were stunned and some were impressed on how our lads never gave up.2nd half town was awarded a penalty in the first minute on which tom daley would of been proud of the dive.only for justice to be done with matty wild saving the pen which lifted radleys spirts even higher.  town made 3 subs straight after and yes they changed the game with a goal 5 mins later which radley should of cleared there lines. then another which was the same another scrappy goal. then a 4th which was never a goal a mistake from the offical which was harsh to take and the town scored a 5th when towns player controlled with his arm to score which again was dissapointing to see. end result 5, 1 and two should of been chalked off. but hey i was pleased but dissapointed at the same time. first half town knew they was in a game 2nd half town came through the tie with a better control of the game and looked more fresher. to some the game up i was very pleased on how in the first half we took the game to town at times and showed at times in the 2nd half too. we never gave up from start to finnish compared to last seasons result. today radley a C league team earned a fair bit of respect from towns players, managment team and there supporters. well done lads very pleased with all of you and good luck town for the future, were not light years away from you now and looked foward to our next encounter with them.
