Away league match played on 20 February 2010.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

A cold morning at Bramford but the sun was out and it was a nice clear and fresh morning, the overnight frost had gone off by KO but the size of the pitch was going to make it hard for the boys to play their normal game with such a limited amount of space but it was the same for both teams and they had to get on with it.

The 1st half was pretty much a non-event with both teams cancelling each other out and not too much action to write about. When Bramford did get forward the lads at the back done really well with Finchy in particular having a great game, and if they did manage to get a ball in to the box Jack collected them all comfortably and tried to set the lads away on the attack again. The lads up front struggled to get their game going with the pitch being bouncy and the ball running away down the slope it didn't make it any easier for them. There wasn't any really clear chances for either team in the 1st half so it finished 0-0 and the defenders for both teams coming out on top in the half.

2nd Half

The 2nd half proved to be better and the lads looked more settled after a reshuffle at half time. We won a free kick just inside the Bramford half in the 45th minute, Sam was getting ready to knock the ball in to the box and the whistle went again. The ref called a Bramford defender out of the mix and after a long chat produced a red card, he was sent off for violent conduct after he elbowed Rossi in the back of the head. The free kick went in but it was well defended and the game carried on. The Sax lads were starting to put together some good passing moves and playing the better football, on 50 mins the ball found it's way to Arron who hit a volley on the edge of the box that went straight at the keeper but the lads were pushing hard and creating some good chances. Over the next 3 mins Arron had 2 more shots that both went close but still we couldn't find the back of the net. Sax were looking the better team and the most likely to score but it then took another 10 mins of not too much going on at either end before we saw the next attempt on goal, on 65 a good move down the left started by Luke on to Rossi saw the ball come to John in the box and with him holding the defender off Ed had a good shot that was well saved by the keeper and the score remained at 0-0. The lads started to find a bit of space and confidence and the next attack started on the right the ball came to Connor and he flicked it inside to Arron he played a ball in to Rossi and this time it worked the flag stayed down and Rossi went in to the box and put it past the Keeper to make it Bramford 0-1Saxmundham. We had another couple of chances 1 went to John after a ball flashed across the box and Connor hit the bar from a very tight angle. We made the last few minutes nervy for the fans with some defending and back passes that didn't quite get to where they should but the 1st touch from the striker and the pitch helped us out.

A good result today with the lads having to work hard and keep going for a scrappy win but we are happy with the 3 points. We now have another away game and the 1st time we have played Debenham in a couple of seasons it will be another tough test for the lads but I am sure they are up to it and it is a game to look forward to.
