Home league match played on 26 February 2011.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

The game today was a re-arranged game due to Whitton calling the game at their place off, a few phone calls and Woodbridge agreed to bring the game forward a couple of weeks so we didn't go 2 weeks without a game. The pitch had been rolled but the heavy overnight rain made it heavy and slippery conditions that put the game in doubt before KO but the ref aid we could play so it would be about who could cope better with the conditions on the day.

The lads had been told before the game that quick 2 or 3 touch football would be the way to play as with the pitch being how it was holding on to the ball would cause problems. Woodbridge had a go in the 1st 5 minutes but after that the lads completely dominated the game and we scored more goals than we ever have before in a game and also kept the important clean sheet. The 1st 3 goals all came from George playing on the left with tap ins from a Rossi cross and 2 from Ed just what we had worked on in training and the fastest hat-trick I think I have seen 5 minutes from the 1st to the 3rd. The lads played Woodbridge of the pitch for the rest of the half and scored 4 more Rossi bundled 1 over the line after Arron's shot hit the br and came back down, Fish got his 3rd in 3 games after he was put in by Rossi Fish set up Arron for the next 1 and Arron finished the half with his 2nd of the game to make it Sax 7 – 0 Woodbridge.

We made 3 changes at half time with Connor, John and Kris replacing Tom, Sam and George, John scored with virtually his 1st Kick of the game after Ed had put him through and then 5 minutes later Arron got his 3rd. Ben had the chance to get on the score sheet when we won a penalty I had told Ed to take it but Ben wanted it and I wasn't surprised to see it hit the post and go out. (Lads do me a favour next time we have a penalty if Ben walks towards it wrestle him to the ground and sit on him). Rossi was back in the action again after Connor set him up and then John got his 2nd after a great effort form Ed hit the post and dropped to him for a back heel in to the empty net. I would like to say here that even though the 2 lads up front hadn't scored up until now that they were involved in most of the goals 1 way or another. Arron got his 4th of the game next and then Tom who had come back on got involved in the next 2 forcing an OG and crossing in to the back post for Ben to finally head 1 in and the Ben got the last goal of the game after Arron set him up.

The game finished Sax 15 – 0 Woodbridge an amazing scoreline and 1 that I don't think we are likely to see again the lads did well to keep their shape and keep playing the passing football that we had asked them to do, you have to feel a bit for the away team but we know that goal difference could well decide the league come May so we had to score as many as poss today. The lads all did well and played in the right way and even though we scored so many didn't take the mickey out of the away team well done for that and well done for the result that sees us go top and now we have a really good chance of winning something this season.

A break from the league next week with the cup quarter final against Sutton so hopefully we will get some dry weather this week so we can get the pitch sorted and ready for that

well done
