Away cup match played on 02 April 2011.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

The Semi-final of the cup was played at Falinghaye on a pitch that has seen better days and the weather was hot for playing in, the lads turned up and were well up for the game.

The lads started well and took the game to the home team a great flick on from Ben fell to Rossi and he raced clear and hit a great shot that beat the keeper but rattled the post and came out to safety. Tornadoes had 3 quick corners but couldn't find the breakthrough but in the 10th minute they got the opening goal after a player was allowed to run past several players in midfield play a ball to the striker Sam and Tom were both wrong footed and the player put it wide of Jack and sent the home fans wild. The lads got their heads up and started again Jack made a good save to keep us in it and we had chances to get level, the wind was not helping us in the 1st half with the ball running away but the lads tried hard and a couple of times they came close but were denied by the keeper, The best save came from a Meikle header that looked like it was going in but the keeper pulled off a great save to keep the home teams lead intact. The half finished with both teams looking for the next goal but the half time whistle went with the Sax lads a goal down but very much still in the game.

Connor was put on at half time to try and get a bit more attacking and Meiks wasn't happy but we make the decisions whether right or wrong for the team. The boys were looking good and playing some good football but it took 12 minutes to get the equaliser that they deserved some good play in the midfield got the ball to Ed, Ben peeled off and Ed played the ball over the last defender and he managed to get a great left foot shot away that went wide of the keeper and in to the back of the net a great goal and a big boost for the lads. Tornadoes where resorting to long shots that suited us and we were getting chances at the other end Rossi could have gone down if he wasn't so honest but he stayed on his feet and put his shot wide, the lads were playing well and creating chances it was in the 76th minute that Sax won a corner a ball in came to nothing and it looked like extra time was going to happen. Then Ben who had been dropped in to midfield won the ball and played a great ball over the defender to put Ed in on goal with still plenty to do he brushed off the defender and struck the ball low and hard into the corner to send the lads, supporters and management mad. We checked the watch and saw it was the 79th minute a perfect time to score and surely all over the ref kept checking his watch but in the 84th minute Tornadoes won a corner but the lads stood firm and the ball played back in was to an offside player and the free kick was taken the whistle blown and Sax are in the final.

After the game a few of the Tornadoes lads wouldn't shake hands and were swearing at the lads but we can take that and move on to the final. The lads deserve great credit for the performance and coming back from behind to win the game. It was a good game to watch and shows how much the lads want to play for each other and we now have to move on to the league again with 3 more tough games to come but if they play like they can we will give anyone a tough game.

well done lads for a great win
