Home league match played on 11 October 2008.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

Another warm Autumn morning with the pitch in perfect condition.  Kesgrave won the toss and chose to switch ends with Sax kicking off.  As in all our previous games this season we started quickly and put Kesgrave under pressure in the 3rd minute a cross form John who was playing wide on the right caused panic in the Kesgrave area and Andy stuck the ball in the net for a perfect start 1-0.  With Sax putting constant pressure on the Kesgrave goal we were committing alot of players forward and Kesgrave were looking dangerous on the break.  John played another dangerous ball in the 8th minute and with the ball being scrambled about in defence and constant pressure from Ed the kesgrave defender bundled the ball over the line for an OG 2-0.  Kesgrave were on the attck in the 10th minute and Jack saved their shot comfortably.  We had a free kick on the edge of the area which Kyle put just wide and another one from 32 yards that John put just wide.  In the 18th minute with the midfield winning the ball, Fish set up Ed to make it 3-0.  The Kesgrave defence were rattled and we looked like scoring every time we went forward.  Ed had a shot saved on 20 minutes and the Kesgrave keeper made another save on 21.  In the 22nd minute Ed set up Andy for the his second of the game 4-0.  With John playing well out wide he put in another ball and it just went wide from and Ed shot.  The 32nd minute saw a ball put into the box and with Ed looking dangerous he was bundled over as he was about to shoot, and the ref pointed to the spot.  Andy picked up the ball and with a confident penalty completed his hat-trick 5-0.

Half Time Saxmundham 5 Kesgrave 0

Three changes were made at half time, Zach replacing George, Ollie replacing John and Jake V replacing Fish.  We started the second half as we had finished the first and the keeper had to make a save from Andy in the 37th minute and from the resulting corner a save from a Finchy header.  Jake Vale crossed a ball in in the 39th minute and Andy's fourth was his easiest of the game with a tap in from 2 yards 6-0 .  With Kesgrave looking demoralised and Sax out for as many as we could get we kept pushing and after good work down the left Zach cut in from outside the area and shot from the left to make it 7-0.  We kept up the good play and the Kesgrave keeper made some more good saves.  Jake V then set up Ed who finished well to make it 8-0.  Kesgrave had a good opportunity to get a consolation goal as Jack slid into no mans land but some how managed to put the ball wide from 2 yards outside an open goal.  Ed was looking lively and had his hat-trick denied on 55 minutes by another excellent save by the Kegrave keeper.  On 56 minutes, Ed's hard work was rewarded when he scored to complete his hat-trick which his all round game deserved 9-0.  We had several more chances to make it 10 but the Kesgrave keeper played it well to keep it at 9-0.

The defence dealt well with the attacks that Kesgrave had and the all round team play was the best we have seen this season.  If the boys contiunue to play like they did today the league title is well within our grasp.  With teams all looking at the resullts we are now becoming the team that everyone wants to beat and we will have to play at our best every week to stay where we are.  Well done boys for a fantastic performance.
