Home league match played on 21 November 2009.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

The game against Ransomes was played on a great pitch with the overnight rain clearing away leaving it ideal for football. The pitch is looking good after all of Karls hard work over  the last couple of weeks.

it was going to be a tough test for the boys today and they were going to hav to be at the top of their games if they wanted to get anything out of the game.

After 20 seconds John Broke down the right and had a cross/shot that went past everyone and just wide of the post it would have only needed a touch but no-one had read the run goal kick. Ransomes were soon on the attack and it was only a greta tackle from Sam that prevented a shot on goal and gave Ransomes (not Bramford) their 1st corner, the corner came in and Connor done well to clear off the line.Ransomes were soon back on the attack and Sam again made a good tackle that stopped them getting a shot away. Ransomes (not Bramford Tim) got the breakthrough on 9 when Sax lost the ball in midfield and they broke forward with a great through ball that the striker tucked in to th corner to make it Sax 0 – 1 Ransomes. A couple of minutes later Sax were level when Ed won the ball in midfield and spread it wide to John and continued his run to get on the end of John’s cross and put it past the keeper Sax1-1Ransomes. We again gave the ball away on 20 minutes and Jack made a good save to keep the scores level. On 23 with Sam tracking the run of a Ransomes player Jack came out and chucked himself at the ball unfortunately he collected Sam at the same time they both took a heavy knock with sam coming off worst with swelling on his knee making him 50/50 for next weeks game, Jack has got the stud pattern of Sam’s boot on his leg for his troubles.

Rossi  was brought on and we had a change around with Kris going into centre of defence Connor going to left back and Rossi goin to left mid. The lads took a while to settle after the forced change and Ransomes (not Bramford) were running them round all over the pitch. Jack made another good save on 28 and Ransomes were showing why they finish in the top 2 most seasons. Arron put Ed through on goal but again Ransome s showed their quality to get back and deny Ed the chance to put Sax ahead,Just on half time Ransomes (Not Btramfrod unless you sare Tim) had agreat attack down the right and a challenge on the edge of the box brought a player down and the ref pointed to the spot. Connor stepped up for Ransomes and cooly slotted the penalty home to make it Sax 1 – 2 Ransomes. Sax tried to respond quickly and before half time we had a chance but for once John’s delivery in to the box let him down and the chance went.

Half time Sax 1-2 Ransomes

The 2nd half started with Sax playing well and Ed was soon on the attack and clear on goal after a great through ball from the midfield he slotted it into the net but the flag was up and it didn’t count. Ransomes won a free kick on the edge of the box and put a shot over the wall but Jack was well positioned and saved easily. Again Jack has caught the eye of an opposition manager and was asked if he would sign for their alliance team the 3rd team that he has been approached and a great compliment to him and it shows what a good keeper we have. The game had hit a bit of a low and both teams were struggling to make things happen, Both teams had oppurtunities that they hit over the bar. We tried a change in midfield and put Sam back in to replace fish but I think that Sam’s knee was giving him more trouble than he let on. Sam had only been on for 3 minutes when he got booked the ref didn’t see the ransomes player kick out at Sam but he saw Sam get hold of the Ransome players leg and booked him for it. We had a good spell after that and we got a corner that we could still not score from. Ransomes broke out and made a quick attack down the right which resulted in another good save from Jack to keep us in the game. Ryan came back on to replace Ed who had been complaining of feeling sick and we didn’t want to over do it with his 1st game back after injury. On 25 the ref decided to get his cards out again and booked Ryan and a Ransomes player when maybe a chat would have done. Jack made another good save but it would only be a matter of time brfore they brokre through if the game continued as it was. Sax had their best attack of the half when Ryan broke down the right and got into the box we were all waiting for the shot but Ryan pulled it back to Ben whao put his shot wide instead of the back of the net. We would come to regret that miss and all the others that we had missed during the game. On 72 Ransomes made it 1 – 3 with their striker giving Jack no chance they then went on to score another 3 in the next 7 minutes to make the scoreline a bit harsh on Sax.

I take some of the blame for the game going the way that it did by making too many changes when we should have stayed as we were but it is hard to adapt to the way we have got to in this division, it is something that I will have to think hard about in upcoming games and the rest of the season. It is going to have to be that sometimes players may not get on the pitch for a game but it is nothing personal it is to try and get the best for the team so we can get the bets possible outcome for the season.

Overall we done well for big parts of the game today and we had chances to score when the game was close, at this level if we do not take chances then team like Ransomes will take their chgances and we will not get anything from games. What we can take from games like this is the way in which Ransomes play and heir quick attacking play if we can take some of that into our games it would be something good to get from the defeat.

We have to put this 1 behind us and move on to the next game against Claydon which is and away game and will make a change after 4 hame games in a row, we will work hard in training and try to get back on track next week.

Well done to Ransomes (not Bramford) for the way they played today and if we finish 1 place below them this season we will do very well.
