Home league match played on 24 January 2009.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

Todays game was played on a well prepared pitch which shows how hard the groundsman works considering how bad the weather has been it was a cold and sunny morning with the early frost soon going off.

We started the 1st half well and put Sutton under early pressure which is a sign of how the boys were up for the game. After an early Sax attack the ball dropped to a Sutton midfielder who was looking to play a quick ball forward unfortunately for Kyle the ball hit him square in the face a bit of a stinger on a cold morning but I think it helped to clear the cobwebs. Kyle got straight back up and a minute later he won the ball in midfield and played a lovely ball into Ed who who put it under the keeper to open the scoring and settle the lads nerves 1 - 0. Sutton had an attack and Jack playing with a heavily strapped broken hand made a save and played the ball out to Kris who picked out a great pass to John, John sprinted clear and stuck the ball in to the back of the net to make it 2 - 0. Soon after Jack made another save and the sutton Keeper was also being kept busy by the Sax strikers. After some Brilliant play by the Sax players the ball went to Kyle in the box who put it past the keeper to make it 3- 0. Ed hit the post on 16 and was involved again a minute later when he set up John which is becoming a regular feature of our games and John hit the back of the net to make it 4 - 0. 2 minutes later the Sutton keeper made an excellent double save and Ed hit the post again. The defence were working hard to protect Jack and they were doing a very good job, The Sutton keeper denied George on 22 but 2 mins later Ed was in again when he was set up by the skillful Rossi who was working well on the left 5 - 0. Ed and John combined again to make it 6 - 0 with John getting the goal from Eds assist. Jake who had come on for George forced another good save out of the keeper in the dying seconds of the half the boys were playing some excellent football in the 1st half and were looking unstoppable.

HALF TIME SAX 6 - 0 SUTTON

2nd Half

Jack was taken off as at 6 - 0 we were looking comfortable and we did not want to risk any further injury George went back on as did Ollie to replace Ed who already had a hat-trick. We started as we had finished with Jake in the action early on and in a few minutes in to the half jake used some good skills to get past a player and get a ball in to the box. On 49 Ollie played a great ball in to George who made no mistake and put the ball in to make it 7 - 0. 2 minutes later the skillful Rossi got in on the goal action to make it 8 - 0 after some good work in  the midfield by Fish.Sutton won a corner and with a good ball into the box it caused chaos and after a scramble a Sutton player hit it past Kyle to get 1 back. On 55 Jake got the ball after some good work by Fish and Zach and he put the ball past the keeper to make it 9 - 0, Jack was put in to the action after the ref had to ask george to leave the pitch and it is clear from his play on the pitch that he is a good keeper. John completed his hat-trick on 60 and was replaced by Ed for the final 10 The ball came through from the midfield and Jack was through on goal his touch let him down a bit but fortunately the ball came off his heal and Ed smashed it in to make it  11 - 1.

A good win today with the edge being taken off by some actions off the ball by some and players reacting to comments from the sidelines. The play was brilliant for most of the game and a few seconds spoils it a bit, we need to move away from this as in the future it will come back to haunt us.

We were really pleased with the play in general for the majority of the game and it would be good to go for a whole game with no problems.

well done 11 - 1 we are now top with a good goal difference and 5 points clear we go to Fram next week where it will be important to keep calm and play some good football all players must sign up to the respect campaign at training this week and we are going to have to stick to it.
