Home league match played on 16 October 2010.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

Brantham were the visitors to Carlton park today and it was a chane for the boys to show us that they can play as a team without moaning and arguing.

We were missing Tom through illness and John still out with his long term back problem, after a lot of discussion with Karl over the week we made some changes to see if we could get some shape back into the team. Arron played on the right of midfield and it proved to be a god decision as he played a great game scoring 3 setting 1 up and putting in a man of the match performance.

It only took a minute for the Brantham keeper being forced into a save, Arron crossed the ball in Ed had a shot that was saved and Ben's follow up went wide. The signs were looking good for Sax and Brantham were under pressure constantly. It took until the 6th minute for Sax to open the scoring the ball went in to the box from a long ball and Arron challenged the keeper and got there 1st to lob it into the net it may have got a slight touch from the defender but we still gave the goal to Arron. Sax were now on the attack and coming forward as and when they wanted on 8 Connor got the ball to Ed and his layback to Ben was saved by the keeper. 2 minutes later Arron got his 2nd Jack got the ball from a Brantham shot and launched a long kick that Arron got to 1st and stuck it in the back of the net, then 30 seconds later we won the ball back from the Brantham KO and played it forward to Ed who held the ball up well and laid it back to Kyle on the edge of the Area he hit it well and gave the keeper no chance. Brantham had a shot on our goal from a free kick but it was a comfortable save for Jack a quickly threw it out to Ed whose cross to Fish whose shot was over the bar.

15 minutes and the Sax pressure kept coming and we won a corner Arron took the corner and we finally scored form a set piece not sure who it was but the lads said Luke got the last touch. On 26 Arron got his hat-trick when he had a shot from outside the area with his left foot and the curl on the shot beat the keeper all ends up. 30 minutes and Sax made it 6 Ed got the ball in our own half and made a good run towards the box he played a lovely ball in to Ben who made sure that he beat the keeper. The Brantham team looked shell shocked and the Sax lads lost there way a little all trying to push forward for a goal.

Half Time Sax 6-0 Brantham

There were 3 changes made at half time Kris, Ryan, and Rossi came on for Luke, Ed and Ben.

George playing on the left finally got his goal that he thought he should have had after he took the ball from a defender in the box and then went on to beat the keeper, not sure about the celebration but I think he was happy it was just hard to tell. 46 minutes and Jack made a save to keep his clean sheet intact, Sam got the ball on 55 in our own half and made a great run but I think we will need to work on his shooting. Ed had the next chance and I am sure he will feel he should have done better with his shot that went over the bar. Ben got his 2nd of the game after some good work from George around the box. Connor completed the scoring with a goal from way outside the area on the right of the pitch I am sure it was a cross but it was a great goal any way.

The lads reacted well today and played as a team next week will be another test when we go to Ipswich who are on the same points as us so an important game

well done today
