Match decided by a penalty shootout.

Smugglers Inn hosted Lauders Afc in the fife cup 2nd round today at Myers Park Kinghorn.

Smugglers Inn Saw a few new faces come into the side today along with team Captain Dean Richardson and Neil Linton who took to the bench.

Smugglers started off nice and sharp playing some nice and quick passing with most of the threat coming down the left hand side between Tony Girdwood and Neil Paylor with smugglers Inn creating a few half chances.

It did'nt take long until the deadlock was broken with a through ball from Jordan Sammutt put Neil Paylor in 1 on 1 with the keeper and he made no mistake as he placed it into the bottom left and corner.

Smugglers continued to try push foward and grab another goal, But it did'nt take long until Lauders found themselves level with a route 1 punt down the park with the bounce catching the defence out and allowing there forward a easy opportunity to fire home 1-1.

Smugglers Inn were forced into making an early Substitute as James Woodhouse was carrying a hamstring Injury which saw him replaced by Neil Linton.

Smugglers Inn looked to try pick themselves back up and find a goal to put them back in front.

It was played end to end stuff but within 5minutes Smugglers Inn find themselves 2-1 down.

However this lead didnt last long as smugglers kepted pushing forward in hunt for an equaliser which the did find with a nice ball played into Jordan Sammutt who took the ball down brillantly just to place it into the bottom right hand corner 2-2.

Both teams looking to try take the lead into half time with end to end stuff creating half chances.

But Smugglers Inn did finally find the break through just before half time to take a 3-2 half time lead which saw Jordan Sammutt Grab his second goal of the game a nice ball in from the right hand side was met by the head of Jordan the defender tryed to get something on it but wasnt enough. 3-2 ht.

Both teams came back out with the game been played same as first half end to end.

But Lauders Managed to find a break through to make it level for the 3rd time in the match. 3-3.

Smugglers Inn soon introduced new signing Conor Hay to replace Alan Flinn

Ben Couper to Replace Dean Richardson

And also our new signing Stuart Blake to replace Jordan Sammutt

Smugglers Started to pick up the pace a bit looking to find a 4th goal to try and retain the lead again.

And it did happen Mark James finding the ball inside the box managed to shift it onto his left foot and fire it low and hard into the net 4-3.

Trying not to lose the lead again smugglers were digging and fighting hard and playing some nice football and creating a good few chances.

Smugglers Inn did see the ball hit the back of the net to only be ruled offside with both teams puzzled as he was clearly onside.

with Smugglers looking to put this game to bed Neil Paylor met a ball in from the right hand side only to go just over the bar.

With the Game coming close to an end Lauders kepted trying everything to grab this equaliser and they did just that in the 75minute with a shocking decision from the ref,

Ball came in from a corner which saw the foward climb on the back of Norman Black to knock it him. 4-4.

With the game coming to an end Smugglers Inn had the last chance from a corner which was cleared to bring the game to an end 4-4 FT

Very happy with the performance everyone put in today, Boys can be happy with there performance and result against a very good side who have only been beating twice in the league in 2 seasons!!
