The SSAFC started their IFA London Cup programme with a good 5-1 win Saturday morning over the Valley against the visitors Leyton Orient who put up a very spirited performance but ran out of steam and the SSAFC took full advantage.

The SSAFC started with a 4-3-3 formation that done well away to Barnet & started brightly with some good possesion play but not creating much effort wise. Rowe had a great chance from a corner but his free header went wide. Wedge then wasted a good chance when he was put through by Bell and after rounding the keeper, decided to take another touch which allowed the Orient defence back and was deflected away for a corner. From the resulting corner, Stapleton delievered a great cross in for Wedge to head in via the post and make it 1-0.

The SSAFC then seemed to take the foot off the gas and allowed Orient back in the game. Efforts from Stapleton, Bell & Wedge went wide & the SSAFC struggled to get the 2nd. Orient then leveled up when the offside trap failed allowing their striker in to slot past Warren. Orient then had a great chance to take the lead but found Warren in goal in fine form!

HT SSAFC 1-1 Leyton Orient

The second half started brightly with the SSAFC going back to 4-4-2 and seemed to do the trick when 10 mins into the second half, lovely build up play from Wedge & Stapleton released Swales who buried his chance to make it 2-1. Swales then doubled his tally for the morning when he cut inside from the left and powerful hit a shot into the bottom corner. The SSAFC started to show more confidence on the ball and played some good football at times. Orient didnt mount as much of an attacking threat with some half chances being dealt with by Warren. Swales then got his hat-trick after a corner in found Wedge who's header hit the bar but fell to Swales who headed in via a deflection. The dubious goals panel didnt get in the way and gave him the goal. De-Vall then finished off the scoring when a mis-cued high clearance from an Orient defender ended up finding Casey De-vall for a free header which ended up hitting his shoulder and looping over the keeper.
