Away league match played on 21 September 2013.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

This was to use a cliché a "Game of two halves" in the first of them we were not at the races, panicking not passing the ball very well & getting caught off side virtually every time we went forward, it was not good even though Neve got her self a nice goal running onto a good through ball.

The second half was a different matter, we started playing as we know we can, Issy was what can only be described as awesome in the middle of the park, winning virtually all her challenges, getting some great headers in to clear the ball & making simple good passes to get the ball away to our front players.

Her performance had the cherry on top of the cake when on 49 mins she powered an unstoppable header into the roof of the net from a perfectly delivered corner from Holly.

Holly although she didn’t get  her name on the score sheet this week was excellent again working hard playing some great balls through for Charlotte, Neve & Jess to run onto, Hollies corners were excellent with their consistency

It was great to see Charlotte get her scoring boots back on with a very good 11 minute hatrick in the second half showing pace & a cool head to slot all 3 past the keeper after solo runs.

Neve also had her scoring boots on & put our first 2 goals away, the lure of chocolate after the game if she played well helped this, the promise of chocolate always manages to grab Neves attention & improve her game. ( one day she will sign for Cadbury's)

Jess H worked very hard defending from the front chasing players down & not allowing them time to play, her enthusiasm for the game is great to see.

The defence also deserves a mention, Aimee & Jess worked hard as usual getting challenges in & clearing their lines, Cassie struggling with her knee injury played her heart out as normal & playing through the pain, Corey helped out very well at the back when asked playing some great balls out of defence.

Maria “The Cat “ did not have a lot to do during the game but when she was called into action she was out to tidy up quickly & confidently making a couple of very good brave saves diving at the feet of advancing players.

This was a great all round performance even after the slow start with a number of players being asked to slot into unusual positions due to Grace & Amy not being available for the game.

Well done to everyone the win was great being top of the table is great but the best bit is seeing everyone playing with a smile on their face & enjoying the game.

Lets keep it going for our next game V Whitnash Wolves.
