Temple Villa FC delivered a stunning performance at Moate on 20 December 2025, kicking off at 2:00pm in their league home match against Tullamore FC. Over the course of 60 minutes plus injury time, Temple Villa FC overwhelmed their visitors with a remarkable 13-0 victory.

Deploying a 4-2-3-1 formation, Temple Villa FC set up with Sam Mellet in goal, protected by a back four consisting of James Dullea at right back, central defenders Tiernan O’Shaughnessy and Dan Dwyer, and Cian Buckley on the left. The midfield double pivot featured Oliver Cooney and Darragh Nee, tasked with controlling the centre of the park and linking defence to attack. Ahead of them, the attacking trio comprised Harry Donlon on the right, Christopher Coyle in the central attacking midfield role, and Tom Adamson on the left, all supporting lone striker Andrew Fitzpatrick. This setup promised a balanced approach, combining defensive solidity with creative and goal-scoring prowess up front. On the bench were James O’Grady, Ryan Mahon, Luke McCrossan, and James Henson, ready to make an impact if called upon.

The match exploded into life early on when Andrew Fitzpatrick opened the scoring in the 11th minute, expertly finishing a chance created by Tom Adamson’s incisive play on the left flank. This early breakthrough set the tone for what was to become a goal fest.

The floodgates truly opened in the 22nd minute, a momentous period in which Temple Villa FC netted an astonishing nine goals. Cian Buckley doubled the lead after a precise assist from Harry Donlon, demonstrating his attacking threat from left back. Almost immediately, Oliver Cooney found the net, with a contribution from substitute James Henson, who had been introduced by this stage. Fitzpatrick then added a second goal, again assisted by Adamson, showcasing the lethal partnership between striker and left attacking midfielder.

Within the same minute, Fitzpatrick completed his hat-trick, this time set up by Cooney, while Christopher Coyle also got on the scoresheet, assisted by Buckley. Buckley himself scored again, once more benefiting from Donlon’s creative supply. Tom Adamson then took centre stage, scoring three goals in quick succession, two of which came courtesy of Fitzpatrick’s assists and one assisted by Coyle. Fitzpatrick rounded off this remarkable sequence by scoring yet another goal, this time assisted by Coyle, bringing the tally to an incredible 11 goals before half-time.

At the half-time whistle, with the scoreline reading 11-0, Temple Villa FC made a series of substitutions to maintain their intensity and manage player fitness. James O’Grady replaced Harry Donlon on the right wing, Ryan Mahon came on for Dan Dwyer in central defence, Luke McCrossan took over from Buckley at left back, and James Henson swapped places with Coyle in the attacking midfield role.

The second half began with Fitzpatrick continuing his prolific scoring form, netting his fifth goal of the match just after the restart in the 46th minute. This relentless attacking display left Tullamore FC shell-shocked.

Shortly after, in the 51st minute, Christopher Coyle was reintroduced to the pitch, replacing Tom Adamson, who had been so influential earlier. Fitzpatrick wasted no time in adding his sixth goal of the afternoon, cementing his status as the dominant figure in this extraordinary rout.

Temple Villa FC’s dominance was comprehensive, with their attacking players combining brilliantly to dismantle Tullamore’s defence. The defensive unit, reinforced by the second-half substitutions, ensured a clean sheet, while the midfielders orchestrated play with precision and energy.

This emphatic 13-0 victory will surely be remembered as one of Temple Villa FC’s most commanding league performances, with Andrew Fitzpatrick’s six-goal haul standing out as a remarkable individual achievement. The team’s fluidity, clinical finishing, and tactical discipline were on full display at Moate, leaving Tullamore FC with a night to forget.
