Home league match played on 01 November 2015.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Sunday's match was against south shell United and. Our first time playing the opposition before the match we had a minutes silence on be half of an oppositions grandfather that had past away.

The game kicked off with a changed squad to last week which saw Adam finally back in the squad after 6 weeks out due to work along side a one arm bandit in the shape of robin, the game started quickly with both teams having a fair amount of possession but was south she'll having the first shit on goal, luckily for us it was a poor shit and rolled into Luke arms between the sticks, playing in goal for a second week due to Steves injuries/ getting old.

As the game started to heat up we got more involved with Bob and Langley have a few shots on target one of which hit the post but nothing to show in the early stages of the game.

As south shell were on the attack and Matt on the back foot tried to win the ball but caught the player with the ref rewarding a free kick, the ball came in the box and captain fantastic managed to get the ball under control and pass to Adam who showed a piece of magic and nutmeg the oncoming player, then was able to thread a well timed ball in between bobby and the keeper, who was in two minds to come luckily for us didn't and bob managed to get on the end of it and slot home not long before half time,

Half time came and we spoke of how well we was playing and how we needed to carry on the second half like we ended the first, as we had spoke about in previous weeks but been unable to do so, thankfully we managed it this week with the better possession early in the first half,

Unfortunately as the game went on we lost big bird as his banged wing was hurting too much to carry on that meant a reshuffle with graham making an appearance at Center back and pushing Matt in alongside Adam, the reshuffle seemed to knock us a bit and it wasn't long till all things were square as south shell managed to keep the ball In play as Charlie tried to clear it and managed to beat the keeper as he came racing out.

That seemed to shake us up and we started creating chances again Bob played a ball into Langley who was judged offside rightly or wrongly Langley took offence to the idea and had an outburst at the Lino where I'm sure he told him he was incorrect, not long after captain fantastic had to retire from the game as his ankles wouldn't hold his heavy weight anymore, that meant a shake up with Seph coming on and slotting in upfront alongside bobby and Langley dropping back to cover the right back role.

As the game went on Seph found himself in his favourite role yards from the goal line with the ball at his feet for a tap in, 2-1 up but with legs tiring, south shell played a ball over our defence and as their striker ran onto it Luke came flying out knowing he had to take the ball or at worst case the player to stop a goal he took the latter resulting in a yellow card for the stand in keeper.

South shell favoured the attack and got their rewards when they managed to play a 1-2 through the defence and then another inside the box to set up an easy shot into the bottom corner,

2-2 and both teams pushing for the win with both creating chances, when south shell broke down thier right wing Charlie tried to pull the player back and both ended on the floor as they got up an argument started and they were facing off soon after players from both teams were involved including the opposition goalkeeper who had run the length of the pitch to be involved, graham had a moment of madness throwing anyone that got near Charlie, luckily it quietened down and now both keepers had been booked.

With only a few minutes to go both teams tried hard but the result stayed the same.

Somewhere in all of this Matt got over excited in the box trying to score and think had a nose bleed which put him off his shot resulting in him on his back.

Not a bad result for Thames but after twice taking the lead had hoped to hold on for all three points, but at the end of the day they managed to keep the fortress safe once again from a loss

Cup game this coming week against old foes palmers at home,

we will have to be at our best to keep the fortress safe once again but as weeks go by the confidence and football are getting better and a win is no way out of reach

BRING ON THE CUP FINAL
