Away league match played on 02 September 2012.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

2 minutes extra time played.

Well well boys what a start to the season !!!!!

Scoring in the first minute really set the tone for the match and we looked like we were never going to lose this game, even when Yeomans got a straight red in the 30th minute on his debut after lunging in on their keeper giving the ref no option !

We got 2-0 up pretty quick and looked like we had it in the bag but PHS are a decent team and came back at us getting a goal back to make things tight. We weathered the storm and came in at half time 3-1 up and looking healthy and hungry for more.

At half time we had some orange's and water and a bit of special brew for rips, jonesy and pot and had a chat about the match. We decided to keep playing the same way and not change anything even with 10 men as we were playing well.

It paid off and we controlled a lot of the play with some stand out performances from all the midfield and Dave Poll up front who got MOM. The back four really looked solid too and the new partnership of Kentch and Locky (man crush) looked very good.

We played out the game and came under some pressure late on when PHS took advanatge of our 10 sets of tired legs but we stuck in there and even counter attacked and scored a few more goals.

Benny chapman missed a sitter from half an inch out and managed to even get the ball in the road which was crazy condidering how close to the goal he was !! He did get a goal tho late on which will give him the confidence to kick on and bang some more goals in.

Ripper made a suprise appearence after Dom now show Ruiz did not show up !! He was welcomed back into the fold by the lads and has promised to not be the black sheep this season and also turn himself into a creative master in midfield rather than the greedy goal getter of past seasons. He even said after the game to sky sports presenter Gaby Logan' I really enjoyed it in the midfield today and am well up for setting up goals for other players now and being much more of a team player' he also said to Gabby 'Any chance of a blowy luv' She got down on her knews and sucked him silly untill he looked like a dryed prune :)

Captain for the day Lee Bone making his econd debut for the club after coming back on a 2 year beer and crisps paid contract loved the midfield battle and will again be a monster for the team whether it be midfield or defence.

Every single player really showed up today and put in 100% which was great to see and the three subs all came on and played there part too.

The pitch for lancing was really good (except the dog poo) which helped with a good passing game which both sides played. The return leg of this game will be harder as they did not do themselves justice today and will want to avenge the result.

Finally well done to all the lads its a great way to start the season and hopefully a season of winning :)
