Tiki Taka Dortmund lined up in their customary 4-3-3 formation, aiming to control the midfield and utilise their wide forwards to stretch the opposition defence. Kamsy Anajemba guarded the goal, supported by a back four consisting of Nathen Platt at right back, Archie Hunt and Kain Woodside as central defenders, and Nikita Velicka on the left. The midfield trio featured Noah Rule on the right, Zac Leach centrally, and Zac Humphries-Deveney on the left, tasked with both defensive duties and creative support. Up front, Sonic Leung operated on the right wing, Favour Ajumobi led the line as striker, and Yasin Mohammed took up the left forward role. The substitutes available were Lawrence Nwakamma, Finley Barlow, Andrew-Franz Nkemka, and Oscar Manders.

The match began with Tiki Taka Dortmund attempting to impose their rhythm early on. Within three minutes, Zac Leach delivered a long key pass from midfield, though it failed to create a clear chance. A substitution early on saw Lawrence Nwakamma replace Kain Woodside in central defence, signalling an immediate adjustment to the defensive setup.

Tiki Taka’s attacking intent was evident in the 8th minute when Favour Ajumobi played a long key pass that created a promising chance. Sonic Leung followed up with a good cross into the box, though it did not lead to a scoring opportunity. Defensively, Lawrence Nwakamma made a crucial tackle to prevent Jogabola Orange from capitalising on a threat in the 9th minute.

Archie Hunt was alert at the back, blocking a dangerous attempt in the 12th minute to keep the scoreline level. The 18th minute saw a double substitution as Finley Barlow and Andrew-Franz Nkemka came on for Yasin Mohammed and Favour Ajumobi respectively, signalling a shift in attacking personnel. Andrew made an immediate impact, forcing a save from the Jogabola goalkeeper three minutes later with a close-range effort.

At the quarter-hour mark, further changes were made with Kain Woodside returning to replace Nikita Velicka at left back, and Oscar Manders coming on for Nathen Platt at right back. Manders quickly made his presence felt with a vital tackle in the 27th minute, helping to thwart Jogabola Orange’s advances.

Kamsy Anajemba was called into action in the thirty-first minute, safely catching a cross to maintain Tiki Taka Dortmund’s clean sheet. Shortly after, Nikita Velicka returned to the field, replacing Zac Humphries-Deveney on the left midfield, while Yasin Mohammed was reintroduced on the right wing position in place of Sonic Leung. Finley Barlow was substituted off for Favour Ajumobi in the 34th minute.

The first half concluded at the 35th minute mark with the score still goalless, setting the stage for a decisive second period.

Early in the second half, Andrew-Franz Nkemka broke the deadlock in the 41st minute, slotting home a close-range finish with his right foot inside the box after a neat short pass from Yasin Mohammed. Zac Leach received a sin bin by the referee in the 44th minute for offensive language, which left Dortmund down to 10 men for 10 minutes.
